There are several resources you can gather for cooking and crafting in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, but some of them can be difficult to find. Where to Find Canyon Reed in Avatar¶
Canyon Reed can only be found in the second region, known as the Upper Plains, so you’ll need to progress through the story until you have completed the 11th main mission, The Wandering Clan. You’ll now want to make your way over to the Pillar Canyon biome, which is in The Celebration Valley sub-region. From here, you’ll want to walk alongside the many rivers and look out for large bushes containing Canyon Reed sitting on the surface. If you’re having trouble spotting them, make use of your Na’vi Sense as this will highlight any items in your nearby vicinity.
What is Canyon Reed Used for in Avatar?¶
This is a resource that can be used to craft better weapons and will provide the added effect of increased stealth damage, so this is something you’ll definitely want to have on your weapons if you’re trying to take down RDA Outposts or hunt wildlife undetected. There are Fine, Superior, and Exquisite versions of Canyon Reed, but the better qualities aren’t easy to come by as you’ll need to be in specific locations before they can show up.

How to Get Exquisite Canyon Reed in Avatar¶
If you need to use better quality of certain resources when crafting new equipment, then you’ll have a much higher chance of getting the best stats possible. This means you’ll want to find Exquisite Canyon Reed and you’ll be able to easily find them by visiting the Stone Forest Stream. When you go to harvest the Canyon Reed, you’ll want to push the analog stick to the right to keep it pristine.
