Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes

What Battalions Do in Three Hopes

By
Jarrod Garripoli

This page will give an overview on Battalions, including what they do, how to unlock them, and how to utilize them to their fullest in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.

What are Battalions in Three Hopes

The Battalion Master is where you will be able to purchase battalions

Battalions were a feature in Three Houses, where they were squads of units that could be deployed to help characters in battle. They function a bit differently in Fire Emblem Three Hopes, as they aren’t actually deployed in battle with you. Think of Battalions in Three Hopes as some armor you can equip on your characters. First, you need to unlock the Battalions, which will be done normally as you progress through the game. Once you reach Chapter 5, you will have a few new facilities at your camp, one of which will be the Battalion Master. She will introduce you to Battalions, give a brief overview of them, and allow you to purchase them.

The Battalion Master isn’t the only way to get Battalions in Three Hopes, as you can also receive them as rewards from missions, get them from Surveying Spots, and even from the Achievements. In order to get more Battalions from the Battalion Master, you will need to upgrade that facility, which is done in the same manner as all other facilities.

How to Use Battalions

Each battalion will offer a different defensive measure for your character

As already mentioned, Battalions are really nothing more than a passive stat in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. You equip them to your characters through the Convoy menu, like any accessory or weapon. They usually provide you with some sort of defensive measure, typically from a certain source of damage, whether that may be a weapon type or even something like a Demonic Beast. Battalions can also increase your advantage/disadvantage over the weapon types. There is one little caveat, though, you need to know about before equipping them. The Authority stat of your character will need to match or exceed that of the Battalion.

Each Battalion has an Endurance stat, which indicates their health or so. The Battalion effect will disappear, should the Endurance reaches zero. The Endurance lowers if the unit with it equipped takes damage during the battle. Only a single character can equip that specific Battalion, but it is possible to have more than one of a specific kind, provided you get another one.
