Another interesting Side Quest battle due to the Giant Wolf that spawns, and hence, the high-quality weapon drops you can farm from it. Given that Dimitri, Dedue and Rodrigue aren’t available this Chapter, you may need to level up some back-benchers for this Chapter’s Main Quest battle. In that case, this is probably the battle you want to grind - no reason not to get some better weapons while you level up characters, right?
This battle is relatively easy so long as you have one competent character (Shez should be up to snuff), just defeat a trio of Armored Knights followed by three Mercenaries to rescue a Commoner, after which you can occupy the enemy commander (also a Mercenary) with the rest of your units. At some point a Giant Wolf Monster will appear in the southern Stronghold (Rocky Shoal), and you should have plenty of time to run over and cull this overgrown mutt.
