Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Mission 7: The Frenzy of the Lord of the Woods

By
Vincent Lau

This is a guide for Mission 7: “The Frenzy of the Lord of the Woods”, in Pokémon Legends "Arceus" IconArceus (PLA).

How to Start Mission 7

(1 of 2) You don’t get a lot of chance in the matter.

You don’t get a lot of chance in the matter. (left), Well, let the new mission begin! (right)

You’ll be forced to accept Mission 7 after reporting to Commander Kamado for Mission 6 and listening to Adaman and Irida of the Diamond and Pearl Clans. Your new task is to deal with the frenzied Noble of the Obsidian Fieldlands.

1. Report to Captain Cyllene

(1 of 2) You’ll find Cyllene hard at work, as usual.

You’ll find Cyllene hard at work, as usual. (left), Well, you can be honest… (right)

Head downstairs to the first floor of Galaxy Hall and inform Captain Cyllene of your new mission. She’s sitting behind her desk as usual. After a while, Adaman and Mai from the Diamond Clan will come to offer some advice.

2. Leave Galaxy Hall

(1 of 2) Bagin is here to save you from your bulging Satchel.

Bagin is here to save you from your bulging Satchel. (left), Please teach us, oh wise master! (right)

Once you’re back in control, leave Galaxy Hall.

3. Leave Jubilife Village

(1 of 2) Geez, don’t keep scaring up like that.

Geez, don’t keep scaring up like that. (left), We’ll take those Super Potions as an apology gift. (right)

Outside in the village, make your way to the Front Gate, to depart for the Obsidian Fieldlands. Before you can continue, Volo from the Ginkgo Guild will try and surprise you again. He’ll hand you 3 Super Potions as his way of supporting you. These can replenish 100 HP to a Pokémon.

4. Travel to Grandtree Arena

(1 of 2) To save time, fast-travel to the Heights Camp.

To save time, fast-travel to the Heights Camp. (left), You can then head south (shortest route) or north-east (longer route) to reach Grandtree Arena. (right)

If you haven’t been to Grandtree Arena, it’s located at the far south-east corner of the fieldlands. The quickest way to get there is fast-traveling to the Heights Camp, then going south down the hill towards Tidewater Dam–the small section of land connecting the central and southern regions.

Beware that there’s a Level 16 alpha Bibarel wandering the dam. If you’re daring, you can try to fight and catch it. Or you can just run past it. From Tidewater Dam, you can then head south-east, through the Heartwood to reach Grandtree Arena.

(1 of 2) You’re not told this, but Pokémon can break these cracked boulders.

You’re not told this, but Pokémon can break these cracked boulders. (left), Beyond is Oreburrow Tunnel. (right)

There’s another, longer route that you can take. From the Heights Camp, travel north-east towards Worn Bridge, which connects the central region to the north-east. Go along the bridge, then turn right and follow the easternmost strip of land south. Be wary of a Level 30 alpha Graveler here.

At the end of this path, there’s a big cracked boulder. Throw a Pokémon at it to destroy it. Then go through Oreburrow Tunnel. On the other side, you’ll be directly north from Grandtree Arena.

5. Defeat Warden Lian

(1 of 2) Lian won’t let you pass without a fight.

Lian won’t let you pass without a fight. (left), His Goomy is only weak to Ice, Dragon and Fairy attacks. (right)

At Grandtree Arena, you’ll meet Lian, the warden who watches over Kleavor, the Noble Pokémon here. He’ll challenge you to a Pokémon battle.

Lian only has one Pokémon, while you can have up to 6. So there’s no way you’ll lose this fight. That said, his "Goomy" IconGoomy is somewhat tricky being a Dragon-type. The only Pokémon that are super-effective are Ice, Dragon and Fairy-types, which are all very rare right now. However, if you tutored a Pokémon Ice Fang, that should suffice.

After defeating Lian, there’s not much you can do here, right now.

6. Report to Professor Laventon

(1 of 2) Fast-travel back to one of the two camps.

Fast-travel back to one of the two camps. (left), Laventon will take you back to Jubilife Village. (right)

Whenever it’s convenient, fast-travel (or manually head back) to the Fieldlands Camp or Heights Camp. As the tutorial screen informed you, you can press Joy-Con-ButtonX-Filled while viewing the map to bring up a menu of fast-travel locations. So you don’t need to scroll to the location you want, which sometimes can be fussy.

Back at the camp, Laventon will listen to what you’ve learned. You’ll then automatically be taken back to Jubilife Village. Back home, the Professor will work his magic and create a “weapon” that you can use to pacify Kleavor.

7. Leave Jubilife Village (Again)

(1 of 2) Mai is waiting by the Front Gate.

Mai is waiting by the Front Gate. (left), With Wyrdeer, you can move around faster and easily escape from scary Pokémon! (right)

Without further ado, exit Galaxy Hall and head for the Front Gate to depart again. As you approach the gate, you should notice Mai from Diamond Clan. She’ll lead you to the Heights Camp and give you a nice present: a Celestica Flute that can call Wyrdeer to your side.

In addition, Wyrdeer will present you with the Mind Plate.

8. Return to Grandtree Arena

(1 of 2) You can safely dash past the alpha Bibarel with Wyrdeer.

You can safely dash past the alpha Bibarel with Wyrdeer. (left), Thanks to Wyrdeer, it shouldn’t take long to reach Grandtree Arena again. (right)

Once again, make your way to Grandtree Arena. This time, we suggest traveling south towards Tidewater Dam, then south-east through The Heartwood. If you didn’t come through here earlier, there’s an alpha "Bibarel" IconBibarel at the dam, but you can easily run past it with Wyrdeer.

9. Battle Irida

(1 of 2) Irida doesn’t fully trust your abilities just yet.

Irida doesn’t fully trust your abilities just yet. (left), Fire, Rock or Fighting-types will be great here. (right)

Back at Grandtree Arena, Irida will challenge you to a battle before you can take on Kleavor.

Irida only has one Pokémon, so again, this isn’t a fight you can really lose. To not embarrass yourself, you should lead with a Fire-type such as "Cyndaquil" IconCyndaquil or "Ponyta" IconPonyta. Rock-types also work, but the common ones such as "Geodude" IconGeodude are part Ground and weak to Ice.

10. Battle Noble Kleavor

(1 of 2) Here goes nothing.

Here goes nothing. (left), Kleavor: Lord of the Woods (right)

At long last, it’s time for the main course. You’ll face off against a frenzier Kleavor.

After defeating Kleavor, you’ll receive the Insect Plate.

11. Report back to Commander Kamado

(1 of 2) Now it’s Volo’s turn to be surprised!

Now it’s Volo’s turn to be surprised! (left), Well done on completing the mission! (right)

To wrap up the mission, return to Jubilife Village. As you return to the village, you’ll bump into Volo, who notices the two plates you’ve collected–the Mind and Insect Plates. Afterwards, enter Galaxy Hall and speak to Commander Kamado on the third floor.

After the mission, you’ll receive the Smoke Ball recipe from Akari or Rei while dining at The Wallflower. When it’s night, you’ll automatically trigger Request 22: Eerie Apparitions in the Night.
