Pokémon Legends: Arceus

How to Make Money

By
Staci Miller

These are all of the ways to make and farm money in Pokémon Legends: "Arceus" IconArceus (PLA).

Catch Pokémon

The most obvious way to make money in the game is catching Pokémon and reporting to the Professor. For each Pokémon you catch, you’ll get XP and those important Poké Dollars.

This isn’t, however, isn’t usually enough, as the items in the game are expensive and the Professor isn’t super generous with the pay! Still, it’s the main way people get income in the game and may be the bulk of your money at first.

Find and Sell Items

Finding and selling items is another way to make quick money.

Crafting

If you have a lot of materials but don’t necessarily need the items they can be used for, craft and sell them!

This means they don’t go to waste and you bring in extra money.

Star Pieces are by far the ones that will bring in the biggest amount of money, however. The initial crating recipe might seem steep at 10,000 but each individual Star Piece brings in 5,000 so it quickly pays for itself.

To craft Star Pieces, you’ll need:

  • 3 Red Shards
  • 3 Blue Shards
  • 3 Green Shards
  • 1 Bag of Stardust

Tumblestone Rocks

Make sure you check out every Tumblestone Rock.

It doesn’t take long to break them open, so get every one.

For the most part, you’ll just farm crafting materials from them, but every now and again they might spit out a high-value item.

Use Ursaluna

Don’t forget that when you get Ursaluna as a mount, you can hit the Y button to dig for treasure. This will often yield items that are much rarer than those you find above the ground.

Space-Time Distortions

Space-Time Distortions yield expensive and rare items you can also sell for money. Look on the ground for different Shards that you can then go and sell, as there should be quite a lot of them, and you can rack them up to make Star Pieces.

They have rare Pokémon too, so it’s always worth checking these out when they appear.

You can even find Nuggets, which will get a very nice price.

Defeat Alpha Pokémon

As you increase the levels of your Pokémon while progressing through the game, you’ll be able to take on more and more Alpha Pokémon. These are large Pokémon with high levels that you can catch or defeat. Some are guaranteed spawns, so you can keep coming back over and over.

(1 of 2) Fighting the Alphas is tricky

Fighting the Alphas is tricky (left), Worth it for the rewards though (right)

The reason they’re actually great for farming money is that they tend to drop items that are rarer and of a higher value. While you can pick items up from many Pokémon after defeating them, they’re often common and aren’t worth very much at all.

Complete Requests

Although you might be eager to progress through the game, don’t forget about Requests! They won’t give you money as a reward, but will often give you items that you don’t need and can then sell on.
