Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Mission 10: The Lordless Island

By
Vincent Lau

This is a guide for Mission 10: The Lordless Island in Pokémon Legends: "Arceus" IconArceus (PLA).

How to Start Mission 10

(1 of 2) This mission doesn’t involve a Noble, but…

This mission doesn’t involve a Noble, but… (left), A trip to the beach? Sounds fun. (right)

You’ll receive this mission directly from Commander Kamado after reporting to him for Mission 9. According to Irida of the Pearl Clan, something spooky has appeared at Firespit Island at Cobalt Coastlands. There’s only one man/woman brave enough to get to the bottom of things: you.

1. Head for the Front Gate

(1 of 2) Lian is surprisingly knowledgeable about rocks.

Lian is surprisingly knowledgeable about rocks. (left), Give these to a Pokémon to boost their Effort Levels. (right)

Assuming you’re allowed to depart for the Cobalt Coastlands, head for the Front Gate to begin leaving the village. As you’re about to reach the gate, someone unexpected will show up: Lian, Kleavor’s Warden. He’ll give you some advice and 2 Grit Pebbles.

When Lian’s gone, leave the village proper. On the world map screen, select the new region towards the north-east: the Cobalt Coastlands.

2. Battle Irida

Upon arrival at the coastlands, Irida will be waiting a short distance ahead. As a way of cooling her head, she challenges you to a battle.

Pearl Clan Leader Irida

(1 of 2) Irida’s trusty Glaceon is back.

Irida’s trusty Glaceon is back. (left), It’s also supported by a low level Eevee. (right)

Pokémon Level Type
"Glaceon" IconGlaceon 30 pokemon_pla_type_ice.png
"Eevee" IconEevee 15 pokemon_pla_type_normal.png

Irida has her "Glaceon" IconGlaceon like last time, but she’ll also fight with an "Eevee" IconEevee simultaneously. Hey, 2 on 1 isn’t fair! That said, you do have up to 6 Pokémon in your team…

Anyway, Eevee is significantly lower Level, but it can be annoying, using Baby-Doll Eyes to weaken your offensive stats.

It’s your choice whether to focus on Glaceon or Eevee first; you can swap targets by pressing Joy-Con-ZL-Filled. Glaceon is the bigger threat, so we’d suggest removing it first. Use Fire, Rock, Fighting or Steel-types, if possible. Fighting-types are also effective versus Eevee.

3. Visit Palina at Veilstone Cape

(1 of 2) This is where Palina is waiting.

This is where Palina is waiting. (left), Palina is a good friend of Irida’s. (right)

Irida will instruct you on the location of Palina, the warden of the deceased Noble. She’s waiting at the tip of Veilstone Cape. To get there, take a left after leaving the base camp, then travel straight ahead, while keeping to the left. Follow the slope upwards and carry on all the way to the end of the highlands.

4. Visit Iscan on Aipom Hill

(1 of 2) Hey, we see Volo. Shall we surprise him?

Hey, we see Volo. Shall we surprise him? (left), Iscan prefers to keep to himself, it seems. (right)

Palina will suggest visiting a friend of hers: Iscan from the Diamond Clan. He lives in a hut on "Aipom" IconAipom Hill, aaaaall the way to the south-west. Thankfully, it won’t take too long to get there while riding Wyrdeer. To save time, you may want to fast-travel to the base camp and proceed south from there.

As you approach Iscan’s hut, you’ll run into Volo again. But he’s not here for a battle or any such.

5. Catch a Dusclops at Deadwood Haunt

(1 of 2) Deadwood Haunt is located just before Sand’s Reach.

Deadwood Haunt is located just before Sand’s Reach. (left), At night, you can find the odd Dusclops here and there. (right)

Iscan will request you to bring him a "Dusclops" IconDusclops. As he explains, you can encounter them at Deadwood Haunt, towards the east, at night. If you want, you can accept Iscan’s suggestion to sleep at his place until nightfall. Either way, ride Wyrdeer all the way east. If you did some exploring earlier and unlocked the Coastlands Camp, you can fast-travel there, then travel west instead.

At Deadwood Haunt, it shouldn’t be long before you stumble upon a Dusclops at night. You can try and catch them without a fight, by chucking a Poké Ball directly at their back. Or you can confront them head on and weaken them first. Keep in mind that False Swipe won’t work on them, since they’re Ghost-type.

6. Return to Iscan

Once again, make your way to Iscan’s hut on Aipom Hill. Sadly, it’s not an eligible fast-travel spot, so you’ll have to ride all the way there from Deadwood Haunt or the coastlands entrance. With Dusclops’s help, you’ll receive a ball of Basculegion Food.

7. Meet Iscan at Ginkgo Landing

(1 of 2) Iscan is waiting halfway along the beach.

Iscan is waiting halfway along the beach. (left), Hmm, is it really that surprising? (right)

Right, the moment you’ve been waiting for! Head over to Ginkgo Landing, direct east from the coastlands entrance. Iscan will be waiting right near the coastline. With his Celestica Flute, Iscan will summon Basculegion. You’ll receive the Splash Plate from the massive fish, plus the all-important ability to ride it!

However, it’s not all good news. While you’re distracted, the bandit sisters make another appearance and successfully manage to pull of a heist. After them!

8. Ride Basculegion to Firespit Island

(1 of 2) Firespit Island is located towards the far north-east.

Firespit Island is located towards the far north-east. (left), Now that you’ve got Basculegion, you can finally reach the island. (right)

Without a moment to waste, get on Basculegion.

Your next destination is Firespit Island, located at the north-east corner. You can either swim east towards the edge of the zone, then proceed north. Or you can travel north-east and cut through the tunnel along the center of the highlands. Either way, disembark at the west side of the island, then proceed towards the center. At that point, Iscan will catch up you.

9. Confront the Bandit Sisters at the Molten Arena

Cautiously make your way anti-clockwise along the path surrounded by cliffs. There are wild "Magmar" IconMagmar and "Graveler" IconGraveler roaming around and they hate intruders. When you reach the north side of the island, you’ll arrive at the Molten Area. In the distance, you should spot the sisters; prepare for a confrontation!

Bandit Clover

(1 of 2) Clover reminds us of Candice.

Clover reminds us of Candice. (left), Bringing an Ice-type to a volcano isn’t very smart though. (right)

Pokémon Level Type
"Abomasnow" IconAbomasnow 35 pokemon_pla_type_grass.pngpokemon_pla_type_ice.png

Clover has a "Abomasnow" IconAbomasnow, which you won’t get to catch for a while. This abominable snowman is extremely susceptible to Fire moves. Besides that, Poison, Fighting, Bug and Steel are safe choices.

Bandit Coin

(1 of 2) Now that we think about it, Coin has Saturn’s hair.

Now that we think about it, Coin has Saturn’s hair. (left), It’s tough not being able to heal, but keep trucking on. (right)

Pokémon Level Type
"Toxicroak" IconToxicroak 34 pokemon_pla_type_poison.pngpokemon_pla_type_fighting.png

Coin sends out her "Toxicroak" IconToxicroak like last time. Again, Psychic-types will end it in an instant. Otherwise, Flying and Ground will also perform great.

Bandit Charm

(1 of 2) Charm… Is she supposed to be related to Bertha?

Charm… Is she supposed to be related to Bertha? (left), Your Rhydon is lacking compared to our Rhyperior. (right)

Pokémon Level Type
"Rhydon" IconRhydon 34 pokemon_pla_type_rock.pngpokemon_pla_type_ground.png
"Gengar" IconGengar 35 pokemon_pla_type_ghost.pngpokemon_pla_type_poison.png

Charm is clearly the big sister here, with two Pokémon, gasp. "Rhydon" IconRhydon takes massive damage from Water or Grass. You could also use Fighting or Ground. "Gengar" IconGengar meanwhile is best handled with Dark or Ground-types.

10. Battle Noble Arcanine

(1 of 2) You were totally expecting a Noble fight, right?

You were totally expecting a Noble fight, right? (left), Noble Arcanine can really turn up the heat, but you’re a pretty cool customer. (right)

With the sisters out of the way, you still have one teensy… OK, one very big problem: a brand new raging "Arcanine" IconArcanine. Heal up if necessary, then go over and try to calm down the pup.

Once Arcanine has regained its composure, it’ll reward you with a Flame Plate.

11. Report to Commander Kamado

(1 of 2) Do you reckon Kamado is impressed with our athletics?

Do you reckon Kamado is impressed with our athletics? (left), The Noble Pokémon never stood a chance! (right)

You know the drill by now. Don’t keep the good news to yourself; when you’re free, head back to good ol’ Jubilife Village. There, report your latest mission to Kamado in his third floor office at Galaxy Hall. Another mission bites the dust.
