Pokémon Legends: Arceus

How to Find & Catch Landorus

By
Vincent Lau

This page explains how to catch "Landorus" IconLandorus in Pokémon Legends "Arceus" IconArceus (PLA).

How to Unlock Landorus

After defeating Giratina at the Temple of Sinnoh during the postgame, you can receive Request 94 “Incarnate Forces of Hisui” from Cogita upon entering Galaxy Hall. This will make Landorus appear in the Obsidian Fieldlands.

(1 of 2) Landorus can be found at the outer edge of Ramanas Island.

Landorus can be found at the outer edge of Ramanas Island. (left), He’s pretty hard to miss since he’s bright orange and surrounded by gusts. (right)

More specifically, Landorus is roaming the perimeter of Ramanas Island, towards the south-west. You can reach there by fast-traveling to the Heights Camp, then gliding south-west with "Braviary" IconBraviary. Try searching the western side of Ramanas Island first. You’re looking for something orange surrounded by white-colored wind.

How to Catch Landorus

Landorus, alongside the other Incarnates, is one of the most annoying Pokémon to catch. When Landorus sees you, he will go zooming backwards at high speed, while often conjuring multiple tornadoes to block your path. You can chase after Landorus, but it’s generally a fruitless endeavor.

(1 of 2) If Landorus spots you, he’ll run away and create tornadoes.

Instead, we suggest loading up on Smoke Bombs and Stealth Spray. You can craft these yourself or buy them from the general stores. Landorus always travels in a loop around the beach of Ramanas Island, so find an opportunity to cut into his path. Use the Stealth Spray if necessary, then chuck Smoke Bombs to obscure yourself.

Once you’re close enough to Landorus, throw something at him to dispel his wind shield. You could throw a Pokémon to save items, or throw mud, more Smoke Bombs, Wing Balls etc. After dispelling the shield, Landorus will roar and re-apply his shield. This is normal. Safely sneak up on Landorus again and repeat two more times.

On the third successful throw, Landorus will be stunned after his shield fades. That’s your chance to throw a Pokémon and trigger a battle. You could throw a Poké Ball too, but if it fails, you’ll have to go through the whole process again. While Landorus is stunned, if you’re positioned behind him, you can catch him unawares during battle/catching.

Battling Landorus

During Pokémon battles, Landorus can use his new signature move Sandsear Storm, which deals Ground-type damage and may burn. He can also use Extrasensory (Psychic), Crunch (Dark) and Earth Power (Ground). Flying-types are advised, to shrug off his Ground attacks. However, it’s more important to have Pokémon with False Swipe to safely reduce his HP.

How to Change Landorus into His Therian Form

(1 of 2) Use the Reveal Glass on Landorus…

When you’ve captured all four Incarnates and reached Research Level 10 for them, you can report back to Cogita at the Ancient Retreat. She’ll give you the Reveal Glass key item that will allow you to swap between their current Incarnate forms and their beast-like Therian forms.
