Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Request 122: Kricketot's Path of Solitude

By
Vincent Lau

This is a guide for Request 122: “"Kricketot" IconKricketot’s Path of Solitude” in the “Daybreak” DLC for Pokémon Legends: "Arceus" IconArceus (PLA).

How to Unlock Request 122

(1 of 2) This is the final request related to the Path of Solitude.

After completing Request 108 through Request 117, you can receive 5 additional requests–including this one–from Gared at the Jubilife Village Training Grounds.

1. Participate in the Path of Solitude with Kricketot

To complete this request, you must challenge the Path of Solitude with a Kricketot that’s trained to the max.

Speak to Ingo at the Training Grounds with Kricketot as your only party member and choose the “Path of Solitude” option. You can change your party by choosing the “Select Pokémon” option when speaking with Ingo.

This is another ridiculous fight similar to Request 117 and Request 121 where you need a near-maxed out Pokémon to win.

In this case, you’ll want a Level 90 or higher Kricketot, ideally with a Nature that boosts Sp. Atk but does not lower Sp. Def (otherwise, it must be higher Level to compensate). Also, it needs max Effort Levels in HP, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def and Speed.

(1 of 2) Use Absorb and… that’s it.

Use Absorb and… that’s it. (left), It will take several Absorbs to defeat Gyarados. (right)

To win the fight, simply keep spamming Absorb, which deals pitiful damage to "Gyarados" IconGyarados, while healing pitiful HP. Meanwhile, Gyarados will retaliate with Twister, occasionally using it in Agile Style depending on your action speed.

Put simply, this is a battle of attribution, where your Kricketot needs to defeat Gyarados before it succumbs to Twister damage. At the bare minimum, it takes 7 Absorbs to KO Gyarados–the last one may need to be in Strong Style. Of course, critical hits can help or hinder you, depending on whether they’re from Kricketot or Gyarados.

Reward for Request 122

(1 of 2) Here’s our monstrous Kricketot.

Triumph against Gyarados and Ingo will give you some rewards such as Exp. Candies or Grit items. Additionally, for your first clear, he’ll add a “Path of Solitude” stamp in Kricketot’s Pokédex page.

Show the stamp to Gared to complete this request, earning you:

  • Seed of Mastery x1
  • Exp. Candy XL x1

If you’ve completed all 5 of these requests, Gared will also give you 10 lots of Exp. Candy XL, before disappearing into the aether. Quick, disappear yourself before he changes his mind and comes back!
