Pokémon Legends: Arceus

What is the Path of Tenacity?

By
Vincent Lau

This page explains what the Path of Solitude is, in the “Daybreak” DLC for Pokémon Legends: "Arceus" IconArceus (PLA).

(1 of 2) In the Path of Tenacity, you’ll fight three opponents without a break.

In the Path of Tenacity, you’ll fight three opponents without a break. (left), These opponents may send out Pokémon one at a time. Or they may send out all their Pokémon at once. (right)

The Path of Tenacity is an optional set of challenge battles that you can undertake by speaking to Warden Ingo at the Jubilife Village Training Grounds.

Essentially, it’s a mini-gauntlet where you battle three pre-determined foes without a break in-between. At the high end, you can fight up to 15 Pokémon in a row, while you can only use 6 Pokémon. So you’ll need Pokémon that are strong and can take a lot of hits and/or heal themselves.

How to Unlock the Path of Tenacity

(1 of 2) The Path of Tenacity option will appear after you’ve completed Request 102.

The Path of Tenacity is unlocked in the same manner as the Path of Solitude. After downloading the Daybreak update, you must also be at the postgame (Mission 19 or above) and you must’ve completed Request 102 (the actual questline starts from Request 95).

Once both conditions are met, when you return to Jubilife Village, you’ll automatically be brought to Ingo and introduced to his new challenges–one of which is the Path of Tenacity.

Benefits of Completing the Path of Tenacity

(1 of 2) If you’re tired of farming Blissey, you can Level Up here as well.

If you succeed in defeating all 3 opponents, you can earn various item rewards such as Exp. Candies and evolution items.

Also the Path of Tenacity battles aren’t too challenging (near the beginning, at least), so you can use them to Level Up your Pokémon. However, keep in mind that only Pokémon that survive the end of a battle will earn experience points.

Tips for the Path of Tenacity

Compared to the Path of Solitude and the Eternal Battle Reverie, the Path of Tenacity is relatively straightforward. Although the Galaxy Team can get quite tough the more you defeat them.

As usual, you can make things easier by Leveling Up your mons and boosting their Effort Levels. Please refer to the Path of Solitude tips section if you need a starting point.

(1 of 2) Reviving is important for two reasons.

Reviving is important for two reasons. (left), It allows you to have more Pokémon for the next fight, plus the revived Pokémon will earn experience points. (right)

Remember that items are fair game, so be sure to stock up on Max Potions, Full Restores, Revives and whatnot. If any of your Pokémon are KO’d, you can also attempt to use items to revive them when your opponent has one Pokémon left, provided it’s safe enough.

Besides that, Pokémon with access to Calm Mind and/or recovery moves would be helpful here. Calm Mind boosts both their offensive and defensive stats, so they can clear out foes faster and tank more hits.

Recovery moves are useful because they’ll save you from spending excess money on Potions and other healing items. Such moves include Recover and Roost for pure recovery, plus Drain Punch and Draining Kiss to deal damage and heal at the same time.

(1 of 2) Arceus is ridiculously powerful…

Arceus is ridiculously powerful… (left), But after all the effort to unlock Arceus, there’s no shame in using it! (right)

Finally, it might be cheating slightly, but if you’ve unlocked Arceus, by completing Mission 27, we highly recommend using it. If you give the Legend Plate to Arceus, you can make it swap to a super-effective type mid-battle by using Judgement. Furthermore, Arceus can use Calm Mind and Recover, which we suggested above.

The only downside is that Arceus’s signature move Judgement only has 5 uses, which isn’t much, especially versus the Galaxy Team. You can get around this by feeding Arceus Hopo Berries though. You could also take out weaker foes with a 4th move of your choice; Snarl is a good pick, since it also lowers the foe’s offensive stats.
