MW2 has a brand new feature as of the Season 01 reloaded patch, which is the Raid feature. Raids are a brand new Spec Ops game type for new maps, which aims to play like Destiny 2 raids, requiring teamwork, practice, and tactics to beat. As it stands, there’s two versions of raids, one with normal mode raids, and a hard mode that unlocks later once you beat the normal raid version. Moreso, each comes with rewards for multiplayer and Warzone 2, which is nice. But to get your MW2 Raid Rewards, you need a Raids Key.
How to Get Your MW2 Raid Key¶
Here is one way to get Raid Keys in MW2.
At the time of writing, there are several ways to get keys for MW2 Raids. Players can get Raid keys in one of three ways:
- Complete a multiplayer challenge
- Finish in the top 20 of a Warzone 2 game
- Extract with $30,000 in cash in DMZ
The second and third option will always be like that, unless the developers decide to alter it in the future. Meanwhile, the multiplayer challenge option will change depending on your daily tasks. For example, ours is to use our Field Upgrade 4 times. But, this is likely to change tomorrow. So, do what you have to do, and then you will get your MW2 raids key.
Note that once you complete a challenge that awards the player with a raids key, you will then have access to the raid for the rest of the week. We are not too sure what constitutes as the end of the week in MW2 terms, but there you go.
Once you have your key, you can scroll down to the Cooperative section of the MW2 multiplayer, and then select a raid. At the time of writing, there is only one raid, which is Atomgrad EP 0.1 and its accompanying hard mode.
MW2 Raid Rewards¶
Completing a raid can reward skins and Operators, such as Gaz.
From the looks of things, each Raid will have a rewards for players to collect. So far, these are largely just cosmetic skins. For example, the Atomgrad EP 0.1 raid has rewards for players to unlock the Gaz Operator, wearing his water diving body outfit and head option designed for this raid. There is also a skin for Gaz as well, which is his iconic ghillie suite skin from the campaign, Recon By Fire.
Note that those who don’t want to play the Raid for the rewards can also buy the raid pass in the store for 1800 COD Points. At the time of writing the raid bundle grants players the Atomgrad EP 0.1 raid rewards for Gaz and his skin, along with some extra weapon blueprints and other skins and account cosmetics you can only get via the bundle.
It is likely each new raid will offer players different rewards when the teams behind MW2 decide to release new raids for players to try.
