The SP-R is the shining star of Modern Warfare, with its one-shot potential for close and medium-range targets. While people love leveling this up, the camo challenges are slightly more annoying to get for the gun. Here we look at MW2’s SP-R 208 camo challenges, and tips on completing them.
SP-R 208 Camo Challenges Guide¶
Here are the SPR-208 Camo Challenges in MW2, and what you need to do to get them.
Challenge | Requirement | Camo reward |
---|---|---|
Challenge 1 | Get 50 kills with the SP-R 208 | Dark Canopy |
Challenge 2 | Get 50 kills while ADS with the SP-R 208 | Desert Digital |
Challenge 3 | Get 30 kills while Prone with the SP-R 208 | Ferns |
Challenge 4 | Get 20 kills while mounted with the SP-R 208 | Crimson Streak |
Gold challenge | Get three kills without dying ten times | Gold Camo |
Platinum Challenge | 25 longshots with the SP-R 208 | Platinum Camo |
Polyatomic Challenge | 25 headshots with the SP-R 208 | Polyatomic |
Orion Challenge | Currently unknown | Orion Camo |
The base challenges are relatively easy. You can use the run-around quick-scoping SPR 208 loadout and class setup if you wish. But, for reference, your typical quick ADS attachments are as follows:
- 12.5“ Barrel
- Optic of choice
- ZRL T70 Pad Extension
- Aim Assist 408 Comb
- FSS ST87 Bolt
These attachments offer you the quick scoping needs and chambering speeds to make running around the map, adding and getting back into the action much more efficient. Moreso, this weapon loadout allows you to work on every single challenge as you get them. Level the gun up, get these attachments, and you’re good to go.
This weapon setup will easily knock out the first 2 SP-R 208 Camo Challenges. However, the prone and mounted challenges are slightly harder. We recommend either dolphin diving around the map and quick scoping to get prone kills, which is similar to the run-and-gun quick-scope playstyle. Alternatively, you can prone in a position that overlooks areas players often run down, such as the gates of the fortress map, on the dirt mound overlooking buildings on El Asilo and other such examples. The green tents near the graveyard on Taraq are also a good spot, which offers prone kills to the checkpoint building, and the ruin area to your south.
For mounted kills, a similar theory applies. You can run around the map, get cover, and mount your gun. Or find a nice overlook spot and mount up for kills. Examples that spring to mind are the museum windows on Al Bagra Fortress, the box cover outside of Crown Raceway, and the Mercado Las Almas market area. You can also go onto Invasion maps and mount up for even more potential long-range mounted kills against even more players.
MW2 SP-R 208 Gold Camo Challenge and Higher Mastery Level Challenges¶
Now for the Gold Camo Challenge. The task you have is to get three kills without dying. We recommend you return to the original SP-R 208 loadout and start your quick scoping adventures. You can also play it more like a sniper if you so wish, and camp mid-range distances. Be aware you may find that you don’t one-hit kill, depending on where you are to the enemy player, and if you shoot a limb. You should find you’re able to the challenge rather well, no matter if you prefer the run and gun quick scope or scoped in marksman playstyle.
For those daring the SP-R 208 Platinum Camo Challenge, you need to get longshot kills. It’s time to lose those ADS attachments, and once against, stick on your long barrel and equip the Polarfire silencer on your muzzle attachment slot. Find a long angle overlooking somewhere on the map, and play like a sniper. We recommend going on Invasion for this, as you will find many long angles, more than other quick-play maps.
As for the Polyatomic Camo Challenge, you need to get headshots. You can use either the quick scope build, or the sniper build used for platinum. For quick scoping, we recommend a smaller optic to trace heads easily, a 4x should be enough. For the long-range, the SP-X 800 optic is a good option for its 6x and 12x zoom. You should be able to get headshots easily with your long-range playstyle using this. Feel free to use whatever method you prefer, and try and land those headshots. Note that you’ll likely find more headshots when fighting enemy using crouch-sized cover, such as the Hotel map, or Crown Raceway, but you can chip away at this just fine on any other map.
This concludes the MW2 SP-R 208 Camo challenges guide. Hopefully, these tips will help you along the way. If we figure out what the Orion camo challenge is, we will be sure to add tips for that as well!
