The 556 Icarus is the M4 platform’s LMG. This is a fairly mobile LMG, which packs a decent punch. The weapon has teething issues, but it is still fun. Once you start leveling it up, you will unlock challenges. Let’s look at the 556 Icarus camo challenges in M2 and tips on completing base camos and mastery camos.

MW2 556 Icarus Camo Challenges Tips¶

The 556 Icarus camo challenges are as follows

The majority of challenges are fairly simple. The main strategy is to use the gun however you prefer simply. Mount up, that’s a contribution to your third challenge. Move around while pre-aiming, that’s potential challenges 1 and 4 done. Your ideal spots for mounted kills are in locations near objectives. There are plenty of objects to mount on outside objectives.

Meanwhile, objectives inside the building provide a decent opportunity to get your crouched kills as you hide in cover, corners, and ADS ways into the site and hold the trigger down. You can also do this in other contested map rotation areas, like the pit on Raceway, and the Farm 18 middle building being decent examples. As for mounted kills, the mounted spots covering the doorways on Al Bagra are great spots.

As for the double kill challenge, your best chances at it are to cover the objectives like Hardpoint or Headquarters. Certain maps are better for it, they lead to better funnels for enemies to run into. Examples that spring to mind are the bedroom in El Asilo, the museum in AL Bagra, and the middle ruin on Taraq. These increase your chances at double kills. Meanwhile, look for spawn traps for even more double-kill potential. You can do this by overlooking areas like the gates on Al Bagra, either from the tunnels to the gallows, or the windows and balcony areas of the map. You can also do this on the Sena Border Crossing map as well.

556 Icarus Gold Camo Challenge and Higher Mastery Level Challenges¶

Those looking at the 556 Icarus Gold Camo Challenge in MW2, you need to get three kills with the weapon without dying. This challenge’s essence is similar to what you’ve been doing previously. We recommend finding that playstyle you like using and then going ahead with it. Mount your weapon overlooking a site, or play site and spray the entrance you’re covering when enemies appear. Or spawn trap enemies. Use whatever has worked for you to complete the 556 Icarus gold camo challenge!

As for the 556 Icarus Platinum Camo Challenge in MW2, you now need longshots. Ideally, switch your barrel to a barrel with better damage range, and then throw a silencer on it, such as the FTAC Reaper or whatever other silencer you find comfortable. These two loadout changes will make your LMG better at hitting and killing range targets. You then need to look for long-range angles, which are typically around 35 meters for LMGS. The best maps for this are the Embassy’s outside areas and the Raceway’s pit lane area. Taraq’s cross-map angles, like the middle ruin to graveyard area, and the northeast to southeast angles, especially when the objectives are around that part of the map, are great too. You can also go to Invasion mode maps and look for long angles there, but be aware of the long-angle sniper players.

Finally, you have the 556 Icarus Polyatomic Camo Challenge in MW2. The challenge here is to get headshots. The easiest solution is to specialize your weapon into ADS speed and hold angles. We recommend changing that rear grip, ammo to something smaller and barrel to better ADS-improving attachments. From there, go faster, pre-aim angles and try to get headshots for more run and gun maps. For maps with funnels, use the double kill strategy mentioned earlier, and cover those angles, aiming head height to get those two hit kills. It’s a tough challenge, but one you will eventually work your way through as the games go on.
