How to Get Loadouts in Warzone 2

By
Craig Robinson

Warzone 2 is here, and players can take in the new Modern Warfare 2 weapons into Warzone 2. Before going into a game, you can create custom loadouts featuring your weapons and equipment of choice. As the game progresses, you can get hands-on with that loadout by interacting with the in-game feature of Warzone 2. Here is how to get loadouts in Warzone 2.

Here is a look at how to get loadouts in Warzone 2. image via Activision / Infinity Ward.

How to get loadouts in Warzone 2

To get your hands on loadouts in Warzone 2, there are three primary methods:

  1. Loadout Drops
  2. Another is to clear Strongholds and Black Sites
  3. You can also use the returning buy stations, to trade in-game earned money for your weapon of choice.

The first method of how to get loadouts in Warzone 2 is the Loadout Drops option. This is a feature in Warzone 2, which had drops come to the map from any point through the second circle to the sixth circle. Players can go up to these and equip a loadout from the drop. They are visible to all squads on the map.

The second option is the Strongholds and Black Sites. These are brand new features in Warzone 2 and DMZ, which feature large clusters of AI defending a location on the map. At the start of a game, there will be three strongholds squads can head to and defeat. More will become available as a game progresses, but you will require a Stronghold key to access them. Stronghold Keys are items that you can find throughout games, and then head to the Strongholds marked by their tactical map. The first team to enter a stronghold will need to defuse a bomb before they claim their victory. Any team that comes to a stronghold after that will need to fight scores of AI before they win. The winners of the Stronghold mini-game then get access to loadouts, amongst armor plates and other goodies.

You can then opt for Black Site content if you’re the first team to defeat a Stronghold. These tend to reward permanent UAVs in that lobby, and some other legendary drops and even a weapon blueprint for content in the rest of MW2 and DMZ.

Finally, you have the Buy Station. Buy Stations are likely the most common method for players getting their loadouts in Warzone 2. Warzone 2 and DMZ both use cash, which you can then get and use at the Buy Stations. These Buy Stations will allow you to buy and customize your primary weapon, albeit for lots of cash/ If you’ve done lots of looting in your game, then chances are you can get your primary weapon and attachments through this feature. Simply look for the Buy Stations marked on your tactical map, and you can get the job done.

You now know the three main ways of how to get loadouts in Warzone 2. Happy hunting and winning your games!
