Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II

Best Lachmann 556 Loadout in MW2: Best Class, Perks and Attachments

By
Craig Robinson

The Lachman 556 in Modern Warfare 2 is a decent AR for its range and damage, but the stand-out feature is its rate of fire (RoF). Players looking to use the Lachmann 556 will want to support that rapid fire kill potential by ensuring their fast-firing weapon can paint the target. Here is the best Lachmann 556 loadout in MW2 that supports the weapon’s speedy strengths, along with the best Lachmann 556 class setup and perks to make it even better.

Here is how to build the best Lachmann 552 loadout in MW2.

Best Lachmann 556 Loadout in MW2

The best Lachmann 556 loadout in MW2 will take attachments that support the weapon’s strengths and offset the weapon’s weaknesses. These typically are the more ADS, movement speed and recoil options. The best attachments for the Lachmann 556 are:

  • Barrel: Lach-12 Barrel
  • Muzzle: Forge Tac Castle Compensator
  • Underbarrel: Precision-40 Vertical Grip
  • Magazine: 40 Round Magazine
  • Rear Grip: LMK64 Grip

The first thing you need to know about the Lachmann 556 is that its rate of fire is incredibly high. You will likely waste ammo, so we recommend taking 40-Round Magazine for this purpose. It really only takes around four rounds to kill someone in half a second. But, if you miss slightly, it is a few more lost rounds, along with spraying while they enter death animation. Therefore, we recommend taking a higher magazine capacity to have more breathing space in those harder firefights or when several players are around.

After that, the 556 has access to some great mobility, and ADS speed-themed attachments. The Lach-12 Barrel, in particular, is great. It grants solid movement and ADS for a barrel, but at the cost of some recoil and velocity. That is fine since this weapon has a very fast RoF anyway, other attachments fix your recoil.

For recoil control, you want a Forge Tac Castle Compensator. It’s one of the best recoil Lachmann 556 attachments outside of the barrel, so you need this to stabilize your bullet-hose capabilities.

Now you want to use the Precision-40 Vertical Grip to provide better stability and control of your weapon. The Precision-40 is here to offset the recoil reduction from the LMK64 Rear Grip, which adds even more ADS and movement speed power to your build.

Overall, this Lachmann 552 loadout in MW2 now offers great recoil control, ammo security, and decent movement and ADS speed. This will make the 556 a solid weapon that fulfils the role of holding angles and becoming a viable close-range rusher. The hip fire is not great, but great ADS use means you can still outplay opponents. You also don’t have a scope, but the ironsights on this are not too terrible.

Best Lachmann 556 Class in MW2

The idea behind the Lachmann 556 Class setup in MW2 is to support its ability to frag. The best class setup for the Lackmann 556 in MW2 is as follows:

  • Secondary: X 12 Pistol
  • Tactical - Flash Grenades
  • Lethal - Semtex
  • Field Upgrade - Dead Silence

The reason for the X 12 is that the pistol is a decent calibre semi-auto pistol. It is ideal if you need to snapshot a few distant enemies that you have already tagged up. Since you’re using iron sights and a mobile weapon in this loadout, the pistol serves a purpose here.

Next is the tactical choice. The Flash Grenades are very strong as they deafen and temporarily blinding an enemy operator. Flashes allow you to easily get a kill with your rapid-fire weapon against a disorientated foe in long or close-range fights.

The Lethal of choice is Semtex. The Semtex has an instant kill close range, and deals significant damage on the edge of its blast radius too. It is ideal for flushing enemies out of rooms or awkward camping angles if you can get the angle right.

Your Field Upgrade of choice is Dead Silence. Dead Silence compliments this build’s playstyle as you’re on the run alot. Silence those steps when you’re on the flank to tear through enemies at a moments notice without detection.

Best Lachmann 556 Perks in MW2

The best Lachmann 556 perks in MW2 are the ones that offer the player to keep their momentum up. You will likely want perks similar to that of an SMG player, with your ability to jog and strike fast with your high rate of fire weapon.

  • Basic Perk 1: Scavenger
  • Basic Perk 2: Double Time
  • Bonus Perk: Quick Fix
  • Ultimate Perk: Ghost

The best basic Lachmann 556 perks are Scavenger and Double Time. Scanvenger will keep your ammo replenished when you’re on a roll, making you a self-sufficient killing machine. Double Tap is also a solid option, to grant more efficiency for that Sprint to Fire buff through the rear tape.

The Bonus Perk is Quick Fix: Ideally, you will spend a lot of time in combat, and therefore taking plenty of hits. This will speed up your recovery process, as self-healing is rather weak in MW2. It once again makes you more self-sufficient when it comes online.

The Ultimate Perk of choice is Ghost. UAVs are very common in MW2, so, making sure you have Ghost towards the end will add to your stealth potential with Dead Silence on. It’s a combo that will help you to push for those game-winning moments, or that big killstreak or nuke to end the game.
