Skandha of Form

You’ll find the first of the five Skandhas, "Skandha of Form" iconSkandha of Form, in the first Chapter of Black Myth: Wukong. Despite being the first one, this Skandha is surprisingly easy to miss unless you’re being diligent with your exploration of the woods.

Begin your search at the very first Shrine in the game, Forest of Wolves - Front Hills and once you go over the bridge, you’ll reach a more open area. If you keep to the left as you go forward, you’ll find a Buddha head statue on the ground, go over and examine it to obtain the first Skandha. If you reach the "Bullguard" iconBullguard boss, you’ve gone too far, the rock is just before it.

Skandha of Feeling

You’ll have to do a bit more work to get the "Skandha of Feeling" iconSkandha of Feeling, found in Chapter 2. As you explore the Fright Cliff area, you’ll hear humming, this indicates there’s a Buddha head statue in the vicinity where you can grab a Buddha eye from.

There are a total of six Buddha Eyeballs to find and once you have them all, take them to where you fought the "Stone Vanguard" iconStone Vanguard. The nearest Shrine to this is the Rockrest Flat Shrine, then simply go forward and into the arena to your left. You’ll see a large rock you can interact with, deliver the eyeballs and you’ll fight an optional battle against the "Shigandang" iconShigandang who will drop the Skandha of Feeling upon its defeat.

(1 of 3) Find all six Buddhas Eyes in Chapter 2.

Skandha of Thought

You’ll find yourself in the New West for Chapter 3, Black Myth: Wukong’s longest Chapter. Starting at the Valley of Ecstasy - Mindfulness Cliff Shrine, head forward and deal with the "Non-White" iconNon-White boss. Following his demise, you’ll spot a rock to your right that you can drop down below, do so and follow the linear path until you reach another Buddha head statue, interact with it to pocket the "Skandha of Thought" iconSkandha of Thought!

(1 of 3) Go behind this rock after defeating Non-White.

Skandha of Choice

The Destined One will make his way to the Webbed Hollow for Chapter 4, and as you guessed it, there’s another Skandha to be found. This is perhaps the easiest of the first four Skandhas to find so long as you explore the environment. Progress through the Chapter until you reach the Purifying Spring Shrine and as you head forward, you’ll see a stream to your left. Go to the end of this stream and you’ll find yet another Buddha head statue with the "Skandha of Choice" iconSkandha of Choice.

(1 of 2) Continue from the Purifying Pool Shrine until you reach this stream.

Continue from the Purifying Pool Shrine until you reach this stream. (left), At the end of it will be the Skandha of Choice. (right)

Giant Shigandang and the Skandha of Consciousness

There are no Skandhas to find in Chapter 5, so you’ll have to wait until your return to Mount Huago in Chapter 6, the game’s final Chapter, to get the last Skandha. Before you go any further, make sure you have the other four Skandhas as you won’t be able to spawn the "Giant Shigandang" iconGiant Shigandang without it. Once you’re ready to continue, keep going through the Chapter until you get access to the "Somersault Cloud" iconSomersault Cloud ability that lets you take to the skies.

Go straight forward and to the left a little to spot a massive Golem in the distance, this is the "Son of Stones" iconSon of Stones and is on the route you’re looking for to find the Giant Shigandang. You don’t need to defeat this for the purpose this guide though, so fly past and keep an eye on your right to spot a narrow gap you can fly through, at the end, the Giant Shigandang will spawn provided you have the four previous Skandhas.

Despite seeming like a daunting battle, there’s really not too much to the battle. You’ll be limited to attacking the hands of the Giant Shigandang whenever they’re on the ground for a little, and beyond that, just make sure you dash backward or forward to avoid the swipes. When he slams the ground, be ready to either leap over them (run to where both shockwaves meet to leap over both with a single jump) or dodge roll through it.

(1 of 6) Start by flying to where the Son of Stones is located.

Skandha Quest Rewards

Once the Giant Shigandang is down, you’ll be able to run up its arm and trigger a scene where you’ll obtain the final Skandha, the "Skandha of Consciousness" iconSkandha of Consciousness. With this in hand, return to where "Xu Dog" iconXu Dog is, at either the Cellar from Chapter 2 or Zodiac Village if you did the Chen Loong Quest. You’ll get an option to show him the Skandhas before having him make a pill out of them, the result is the "Five Skandhas Pill" iconFive Skandhas Pill which will give you a boost to your Health, Mana, and "Stamina" iconStamina.
