Hundred Eyed Daoist Boss Location¶
Hundred-Eyed Daoist is the final boss needed to bring chapter 4 to its conclusion and it can be found by starting at the Court of Illumination Shrine in the Temple of the Yellow Flower Area and then proceed into the large open area ahead.
Hundred Eyed Daoist Boss Strategy¶
Before you attempt to challenge this boss we recommend that you’re at least level 70+ and have the Spider Celestial Staff and the entire Golden Embroidered Shirt Set equipped. Additionally, you’ll want to use the Jade Essence Gourd as it’ll restore small amounts of mana which will be really useful in this battle, as you’ll be utilizing spells more often. If you want to make the battle even easier, then you’ll want to make sure you have invested some upgrades in both A Pluck of Many and the Immobilize Spells.
The most challenging part of this battle is actually attacking him as he moves quite quickly, so we recommend waiting out his attacks while utilizing both Immobilize and Heavy Attacks to continually stun him. Once you reach phase 2 of the fight most of the attacks will gain more strike or a wider AoE, but most importantly the damage output will be increased, so you’ll want to avoid getting greedy with your attacks and make sure you’ve buffed up your defense with potions. As always, there are a few serious attacks up his sleeve outside of the basic lunge attacks and sword strikes and you can learn more about them below:
Lightning Strike¶
If you see the Hundred Eyed Daoist raise his sword into the air, then it’ll most likely smash it down onto the ground and trigger a Lightning AoE, so you’ll want to create some distance before this goes off to avoid getting struck.
Poison Spray¶
The Hundred Eyed Daoist attempts to spray poison at you and if you get hit then you’ll be inflicted with the status effect. You can avoid it by simply backing away, but if you do get hit, then quickly use some Antimiasma Powder to remove the effect.
Lightning Slice¶
Throughout the battle the Hundred Eyed Daoist will swing its shot lines of electricity in your direction. Here you’ll want to get far away and move side to side.
Burrow¶
The Hundred Eyed Daoist will burrow underground and attempt to pop out underneath you. Simply keep moving around the arena and then dodge as he comes out of the ground.
Homing Talisman¶
Hundred Eyed Daoist will sometimes stand still and launch large quantities of talisman which will inflict the shock status effect quickly, so you’ll want to keep on the move to avoid them. If you get struck, then quickly use a Shock Quelling Powder to remove the effect.
Realm Switch¶
Once you get the Hundred Eyed Daoist down to its HP down to the final quarter, you’ll find that the arena will switch to gold and the bosses damage output will be increased, so you’ll want to use the Weaver’s Needle to prevent this from happening.
There you have it, every attack that Hundred Eyed Daoist has in his arsenal along with tips on how to counter them.
