Black Myth: Wukong

All Six Buddha's Eyeball Locations

By
Matt Chard

Upon reaching Chapter 2 of Black Myth: Wukong, you’ll encounter heads of Buddha statues scattered around the area. Well, this is part of a secret quest where you’ll need to find six of them, well their eyes that are obtained from them. Once you obtain all six, you’ll need to deliver them to a rock formation that will turn into a boss fight. Defeating the boss allows you to craft a new, powerful weapon. Read on to find out where you can find all six Buddha’s Eyes and where you need to take them.

Collecting all six Buddha’s Eyes will summon a beast made of stone.

Table of Contents

If you want to jump straight to a specific Buddha’s Eye, check out the following table:

Fright Cliff Location

All the Buddha’s Eyes are found in the Fright Cliff sub-region of Yellow Wind Ridge (Chapter 2 region). This area is accessed after defeating the King of Flowing Sands and his Son, so make your way through the area until you do so. Upon defeating them, you’ll reach the Valley of Despair Shrine. From the Shrine, go across the bridge opposite it and follow the path through the large doors at the back while defeating the enemies along the way.

Continue heading straight while defeating even more enemies, and you’ll soon find another Shrine by the rocks that goes by the name, Squall Hideout. This is where the majority of the Buddha’s heads are (including their eyes). You will know when you get near a Buddha’s head, as you’ll hear a chanting hum sound that indicates one is nearby. The list of eyes below is in order of what’s nearest to you.

(1 of 3) From the Shrine, head across the large bridge.

Buddha’s Eye 1 Location

This Buddha’s Eye you may have got already on your way to the Squall Hideout Shrine. If not, the head is near the Shrine, back the way you came. From the large doors you went through to get here, follow the path toward the Shrine, and the head will be along the path to your right (left if you’re running back to the doors). Interact with the head to absorb its essence and acquire the Buddha’s Eye.

The first Buddha’s Head can be found on the path between the large doors and the Squall Hideout Shrine.

Buddha’s Eye 2 Location

From the Squall Hideout Shrine, face the Shrine and turn your camera to the left to find a doorway leading into a cave. Go through the doorway, defeat the enemies, and follow the path until you reach a statue by the rocks. Now, go left behind the statue to find a ritual altar of some kind with the Buddha’s Head at its base. Note that you will get ambushed by some enemies as you approach it.

(1 of 3) Head through the doorway to the left of the Shrine.

Buddha’s Eye 3 Location

Head back the way you came to where the statue is and take the right path (if you came from the shrine). It’s the path opposite the statue. Head through the archway and immediately turn left to find the Buddha’s head by the left wall. Note that enemies will fire ranged projectiles at you from across the chasm.

(1 of 4) Go through the doorway to the left of the Shrine.

Buddha’s Eye 4 Location

From the previous Eye, make your way up the wooden scaffolding via the stairs to the right of it. Make your way to the top while dealing with those pesky enemies hurling projectiles at you. At the top, you’ll find the Buddha’s Head by some pots. This and the previous head are in the same area.

(1 of 3) From the previous Buddha’s Head, make your way up the wooden scaffolding opposite it.

Buddha’s Eye 5 Location

Starting at Squall Hideout Shrine, go back toward the statue as if you were heading toward the Buddha’s Eye 2, but this time take the left path. Follow the path until you reach the wooden structure with two enemies on it, spitting projectiles at you. Defeat any nearby enemies and then take the left path where you’ll have another two paths to choose from. The path straight on will lead to a Shrine, while the left path heading up will lead to the Buddha’s Eye. Before you head left, go straight on to unlock the Rockrest Flat Shrine.

Head back, and take the left path leading up that’ll eventually lead to a boss battle against the Mother of Stones (which is part of another quest). You don’t need to defeat it right now, but if you do decide to, this boss will spawn enemies every time you deal a portion of damage to it. Stop attacking the boss, kill the enemies it spawns, and then attack the boss again. Repeat this until it’s dead. To the right of the boss, head outside to find the Buddha’s head and its eyes.

(1 of 6) Make your through the doorway to the left of the Shrine.

Buddha’s Eye 6 Location

The final Eye is the easiest one you can find. Make your way back (or teleport) to the Rockrest Flat Shrine, and follow the path forward. Along the path, you should spot the Buddha’s head to your left. Note that you will be ambushed upon approaching the head. This is the last Buddha’s Eyes you need for the quest, all there is to do now is deposit them.

(1 of 2) Make your way to the Rockrest Flat Shrine and follow the path left of it.

Make your way to the Rockrest Flat Shrine and follow the path left of it. (left), The last head will be on your left of the path. (right)

What to do with the Buddha’s Eyes?

Now that you have all six Eyes, head to where you picked up the sixth eye and continue along the path. There will be a large area to the left and as soon as you enter the area you should notice an ominous boulder to the left of the doorway. Head over to it, prepare for a boss fight, and place the Eyes into the boulder to summon Shingandang.

(1 of 5) Head through the large gateway near the last head.

Note that there are two bosses in this area, the other being the Stone Vanguard, which is needed for the main quest. You can defeat this first before summoning Shingandang, but if you leave it alive, and then summon Shingandang, they will fight each other, and if you wait long enough, Shingandang will defeat the Stone Vanguard for you, while taking some damage itself! Once you’ve defeated the boss, you’ll acquire the Heart of Stone material (needed for the Weapon), a Mind Core material, and a Skandha of Feeling Key Item.
