Black Myth: Wukong is an Action RPG but it has some similarities to soulslike, such as hidden side quests. There is a gentleman that has found himself encased in a rock and freeing him will give you access to his store. On this page, we’ll provide you with the necessary steps to breaking the rock.
Man in Stone Location¶
Once you reach the Fright Cliff, Squall Hideout Shrine in Chapter 2, head to the open area to the northeast until you come across some Rat Archers, then drop down into a ravine and follow the path to the end to find the man in stone. Exhaust his dialogue and you’ll learn that he needs you to defeat the Mother of Stones to free him.
Where to Find The Mother of Stones¶
You can find her by fast traveling to the Rockrest Flat Shrine and backtracking into the cave, then take the slop up to the right where you’ll find the Mother of Stones Boss. This boss has no attacks and it can’t move, so you’ll want to keep attacking it until its health is fully depleted while avoiding the onslaught of adds. We recommend that you focus on trying to kill the boss as doing so will kill any of the nearby adds, but if you find yourself getting overwhelmed then take some out to make your life easier.
Defeating this fiend will reward you with the Stone Essence, so you’ll now want to return and deliver it to the man in stone. Unfortunately, he decides to keep the item for himself so you’ll need to attack him to put him in his place. As long as you keep on the move and keep topping up your health if you get hit, then this fight shouldn’t cause you much bother. Upon defeating the Man in Stone, use the Incense Trail Talisman to reload the area, then return to the man in stone to find you’ll have access to his store. There are some useful items up for grabs here, but you want to focus on purchasing the Sobering Stone first, as this is needed for another side quest in this area.
Man-in-Stone Store Items¶
Below you can find a list of the items up for grabs.
Name | Price |
---|---|
Blood of the Iron Bull | 3.280 |
Gold Ridge Beast | 12,800 |
Iron Pellet | 6,480 |
Goldflora Hairpin | 12,800 |
Sobering Stone | 6,480 |
The enemies will become a lot tougher and the cost of equipment will be massively increased as you make your way into chapter 3, so we also recommend that you grab the Goldflora Hairpin as it increases amount of money that drops from enemies and the Iron Pellet significantly increases your Defense Reduction which means you’ll take less damage.
