Black Myth: Wukong has some fairly difficult areas to navigate, so you may find yourself accidentally heading in the right direction and as a result miss some useful items. However, you can revisit the areas in the previous chapters and look for anything you might have missed, but unfortunately some are permanently missable. On this page, we’ll provide you with the necessary information on where to find all missable items before its too late!

Missable Items/Quests in Black Myth: Wukong

"Wandering Wight" iconWandering Wight Spirit Visiting the Ancient Guanyin Temple Secret Area in Chapter 1 before defeating the "Wandering Wight" iconWandering Wight Boss will make his spirit permanently unavailable.
Poistone Spirit If you defeat the Mother of Stone before taking out the Poistone in Chapter 2, then it’s spirit will become permanently unavailable.
"Second Rat Prince" iconSecond Rat Prince Spirit Defeating the King of Flowing Sands before the "Second Rat Prince" iconSecond Rat Prince will result in you losing the rat prince’s spirit.
"Auspicious Lantern" iconAuspicious Lantern If you defeat "Captain Wise-Voice" iconCaptain Wise-Voice before killing eight "Lantern Warden" iconLantern Wardens, then the lantern will become permanently unavailable.
Apramana Bat Spirit If you don’t kill the Apramana Bat before defeating "Yellowbrow" iconYellowbrow, then this spirit will become permanently unavailable.
"Venomous Armguard" iconVenomous Armguard If you don’t take out all of "Venom Daoist" iconVenom Daoist’s Arms, then you’ll miss out on this piece of equipment.
"Stained Jade Gourd" iconStained Jade Gourd If you challenge "The Duskveil" iconThe Duskveil before defeating "The Scorpionlord" iconThe Scorpionlord in Chapter 4, then the "Stained Jade Gourd" iconStained Jade Gourd will become permanently unavailable.
"Violet Hail" iconViolet Hail Transformation If you challenge "The Duskveil" iconThe Duskveil before defeating "Daoist Mi" iconDaoist Mi in Chapter 4, then this transformation will become permanently unavailable.
"Dark Thunder" iconDark Thunder Transformation If you fail to speak with Horse Guai in the previous chapters before defeating Keeper of Flaming Mountains, then this transformation will become permanently unavailable.

Wandering Wight Spirit

(1 of 2) Start at the Outside the Forest Shrine

Start at the Outside the Forest Shrine (left), and defeat the Wandering Wight to claim its spirit (right)

The "Wandering Wight" iconWandering Wight who can be found near the Outside the Forest Shrine will need to be defeated before heading to the Ancient Guanyin Temple Secret Area to avoid missing out on its spirit. Poistone Spirit

You’ll have to take out the Poisetone enemy and claim its spirit before defeating the Mother of Stone. It can be found by starting at the Rockrest Flat shrine in the Fright Cliff Area, then enter the nearby cave and make your way up the

Second Rat Prince Spirit

You’ll face the King of Flowing Sands and the "Second Rat Prince" iconSecond Rat Prince in chapter 2. Here you’ll need to make sure that you King of Flowing Sands before the Second Rat Prince otherwise you’ll miss out on its spirit

Auspicious Lantern

(1 of 2) Defeat eight Lantern Wardens

Defeat eight Lantern Wardens (left), to obtain the Auspicious Lantern (right)

Once you find yourself in the Pagoda Realm Prison in Chapter, defeat all eight "Lantern Warden" iconLantern Wardens (found on our Auspicious Lantern Curio Location before facing "Captain Wise-Voice" iconCaptain Wise-Voice in order to obtain this curio.

Apramana Bat Spirit

You’ll need to defeat the Apramana Bat and claim its spirit before defeating Yellow to avoid missing out. It can be found by following the coastline north-east of the North Shrine of the Bitter Lake.

Venomous Armguard

If you wish to obtain the "Venomous Armguard" iconVenomous Armguard, then you’ll need to make sure that you break all of the "Venom Daoist" iconVenom Daoist before it dies.

Stained Jade Gourd

The "Stained Jade Gourd" iconStained Jade Gourd can be obtained by defeating "The Scorpionlord" iconThe Scorpionlord who can be found in the Secret Area: Purple Cloud Mountain. However, if you defeat the Duskveil beforehand, then this will become unavailable.

Violet Hail Transformation

You’ll need to defeat the "Daoist Mi" iconDaoist Mi in the Secret Area: Purple Cloud Mountain before the Duskveil in order to obtain this transformation.

Dark Thunder Transformation

(1 of 2) Speak to the Horse Guai in every chapter

Speak to the Horse Guai in every chapter (left), and then pull the whip out to claim the Dark Thunder Transformation. (right)

You’ll need to find the Horse Guai and exhaust all of his dialogue in every chapter before defeating the Keeper of Flaming Mountain in order to obtain this transformation.
