Description

Beat on the Brat: Pacifica is not part of the main Beat on the Brat questline, despite its name. It’s an optional Side Job that will begin after you complete the Side Job Send in the Clowns, but you don’t need to complete it to advance Beat on the Brat. In fact, you might not even start it until after the main Beat on the Brat questline is over!

Beat on the Brat: Ozob

Sometime after completing Send in the Clowns, Coach Fred will text you and tell you about another challenger, starting this job. Head over to the marked location in Coastview, Pacifica to find a familiar face - Ozob. He’s your opponent for this fight, and the buy-in is significantly higher than in any other fights. Scrape together enough cash and pick one of two bets, then head into the swimming pool to start the fight.

Ozob is an odd opponent. He doesn’t deal much damage (certainly not in the same league as Rhino or Razor Hughes), but he does combo regularly. He’s also particularly evasive and not quite as easy to stagger with your Strong Attacks, so he may just sneak in a few hits when other fighters wouldn’t have. You do, however, have plenty of room to maneuver in your impromptu arena, so blocking and dodging him shouldn’t be an issue. He’s also not above using Combat Stim to heal when his Health is low, and he’s downright fond of using Charge Jump if you create too much distance between yourself and him. While elusive, his durability is only moderate. Sandevistan will, as usual, give you an advantage.

Of course, we should talk about the big, red, explosive elephant in the room: Ozob’s nose. It’s a freaking grenade. And you’re trying to punch him in the face. On paper, this seems like a bad idea, but fists turn out to be a rather unreliable method of arming a grenade. If you equip a Shock-and-Awe mod (immune system cyberware), however, and it triggers during the fight, it may set off Ozob’s nose, which… ends the fight via technical knockout. You can just stand back in a corner and block until this happens (it may take more than one discharge).

However you do it, once Ozob has been defeated, you’ll earn your reward and this job will end.
