Shot by Both Sides is one of the new side jobs that’ll become available once you can fully explore Dogtown without any restrictions. This mission will lead you to an apartment in Night City to obtain a keycard that allows you to help out a woman named Bree Whitney. Read below to find out how to successfully bypass all of the defense systems in the underground laboratory.

How to Start The Shot By Both Sides Side Job in Cyberpunk 2077¶
Before you can start the Shot by Both Sides Side Job you’ll need to progress through the main story until you’ve completed the mission Get it Together. Here Mr. Hands will contact you and request that you visit an apartment in Night City to help out a woman named Bree Whitney, so track the Shot by Both Sides Side Job via the journal, then head over to the starting location which can be found by heading northwest of the Berkeley & Bay Fast Travel.
Where to Find Bree in Shot By Both Sides?¶
When you arrive, take the elevator up to the apartments and you’ll need to break down the door with either the Body or Technical Ability. Enter the bedroom and you’ll find the Bamboo Plant sitting beside the desk in the corner. Examine it to obtain the Militech Access Card and inform Mr. Hands that you’ve acquired the item via text. Exit the apartment and go to the Kress Street Fast Travel, then take the nearby elevator to the Lower Level.

Follow the path ahead until you reach a large open area, then look immediately to the right to find a ladder leading down to a narrow pathway filled with water. Work your way through it climb out on the opposite side and follow the tracks along until you reach a large hole in the wall. Drop down and you’ll finally be greeted by Bree. However, she currently doesn’t trust you, so inform her that Mr. Hands sent you and give her the keycard.
How to Disable Defense Systems¶
Wait for her to open the door and scan the area for threats, such as turrets, cameras, and mines. Here you’ll want to begin by turning off the cameras with your quickhack to prevent the turrets from seeing you, then destroy the turrets instead of turning them off otherwise they could reactivate whilst you’re in the room. Finally, disable the mines in the center of the room if you have the correct Technical Ability. If not, simply keep your distance and shoot them.
Should You Kill or Side With Dante in Shot By Both Sides?¶
Here you’ll come across two more rooms full of threats, so repeat the process you used in the first room, then eventually you’ll reach an office where you’ll need to watch three recordings to learn about Militech’s project. Dante will arrive and attempt to defend himself, so you’ll have to choose to kill him or work with him. If you kill him, then you’ll be able to collect the Ol’ Reliable which is an Iconic Revolver from his corpse.

If you decide to let Dante kill Bree, then you’ll be able to collect the Iconic Pistol Riskit from her corpse and he’ll give you 5,000 Eddies and evidence against her which you can give to Mr. Hands for an additional 5,000 Eddies. Finally, leave the building to bring the quest to a close!
