Walkthrough for the Gig “Desperate Measures” in Cyberpunk 2077.
Desperate Measures a Gig in Cyberpunk 2077, which was added to the game in the Edgerunners Update (Patch 1.6). It’ll appear automatically on your map in Santo Domingo - Arroyo (the Metro: Wollesen St fast travel will get you close), and when you approach the marker you’ll get a call from Muarmar “El Capitan” Reyes, who will provide you with details if you choose to answer. A code jockey named Pedro Aimar - an employee of Zetatech - wants to rob his employer to raise money, supposedly for healthcare. Glad to see some things haven’t changed in 2077.
Follow the quest marker to an apartment, within which you’ll find Pedro Aimar. Talk to him and he’ll tell you the job details, and while you can be as invasive as you wish, what you say doesn’t really matter. When you’re done chatting, grab the Zetatech Shard off the desk, then follow the quest marker to a diner, where you’ll have to wait until 5:00 PM. Just go inside and take a seat at a booth inside the diner to get the ball rolling.
How to Complete the Zetatech Heist¶
After time passes you’ll get a call from Pedro, and you don’t have to wait long for his machinations to bear fruit. When prompted, exit the diner and approach the Zetatech truck, but don’t bother fussing over it, as some Zetatech troopers will arrive. Dispatch them - there’s about half a dozen of them, and they’ll appear in groups of two or so as their cars arrive - and their little drone, too.
Once the opposition has been fed some lead, Pedro will prompt you to hop into the passenger seat of the disable Zetatech truck. Do so, and after some chatter Pedro will assume remote control of the vehicle. He’ll steer - from the relative safety of his apartment, presumably - while you’re tasked with fending off several pursuing Zetatech vehicles. They’ll appear one at a time, and each Zetatech vehicle has two goons in it - pick them off with gunfire or quickhacks.
Defeat the Zetatech pursuers and this mission is pretty much over. You’ll pop back into the vehicle when you’re done and will subsequently have to take the wheel when Pedro runs into some difficulties, but after that’s been dealt with you’ll just need to drive the Zetatech truck to a chopshop/safehouse, drop it off, then exit the building. You’ll get calls from Pedro and “El Capitan”, the latter of which will result in the Gig ending, and your wallet fattening up a big (we score €$17,610 here). A heist with no major complications… what a change of pace.
