For those progressing through the storyline in MW3 Zombies, players will need to beat challenges along the way. One of the challenges you must do is the Freezer Burn Challenge, requiring you to freeze a set number of zombies and Hellhounds using Cryo Ammo. To do this, you must find and collect certain ammo mod formulas and then complete the challenge before extracting. Here are all the tips to get your hands on the Cryo Ammo mod to complete the challenge.

How to Complete Freezer Burner in MW3 Zombies¶
To complete Freezer Burner in MWZ, you need to do the following:
- Slow 50 Zombies with Cryo Freeze Ammo.
- Slow 10 Hellhounds with Cryo Freeze Ammo.
The main theme here is to use Cryo Ammo. There are three main ways you can get your hands on this.
- Complete Aether Nests, Contracts, and loot areas for a chance to get Cryo Ammo.
- Scavenge for the Cryo Ammo Formula and extract it to craft Cryo Ammo Mods for your next deployment once every 3 hours.
As alluded to in the list above, you will need to grind some games before you can complete the task. The reason is that Ammo mods are considered rare-tier lootables, particularly found in missions in a game. They tend to be found as rewards after completing contracts in the loot portals, alongside potential drops from Aether Nests, and other such tasks.
Alternatively, players can get the item from a Formula. Likewise, players can find Formulas for Ammo Mods, allowing them to craft items every three hours to bring into a mission. If you successfully get one of these formulas, extract with them successfully, and then craft one in the pre-game lobby under your schematics menu. No matter which method you use to craft Cryo Ammo, you can attach the Cryo Freeze mod to your weapon from the start, and then be able to do the challenge. From there, simply slow 50 enemies down by applying your frosted-tipped rounds, and slow enemies down. You can also find dogs as you play the game naturally, or you can go looking for the Hellhound kennels and get dog spawns that way.
