Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III

Pack-a-Punching in MW3 Zombies

By
Shane Williams

Treyarch is known for bringing the Zombies mode to the Call of Duty Franchise and they’ve tried something new with Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Zombies by putting a DMZ spin on things. However, Pack-a-Punch makes a welcome return but it works slightly differently this time. Read below to learn more.

Pack-a-Punch Machines look like this in MW3.

How to Pack-a-Punch Weapons in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies

If you wish to Pack-a-Punch your weapon in MW3 Zombies, then you’ll need to build up your Essence which is done by killing large groups of zombies. There are three levels of Pack-a-Punch and each level requires more essence to purchase, such as 5,000 for Level 1, 10,000 for Level 2, and 15,000 for Level 3. Additionally, the areas in Zombies have a threat level that range from Low to High, so if you wish to explore the harder areas then you’ll need to upgrade your weapons first.

You can see the current level of your weapon by looking at the icon in the bottom right of the screen. The higher your weapon level will improve your damage output and increase the ammo capacity, but any weapon you upgrade will be reset every time you reload into a fresh game, so you’ll want to work on leveling them up again before pushing into the harder areas.

Where to Find Pack-a-Punch Machines in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies

Pack-a-Punch Machines are scattered all around the map and they look like broken machines, but they aren’t too difficult to track down as their locations are pinpointed on your map. The machines on the outer edge of the map will only allow you to upgrade your weapon to the first level, so if you wish to increase your Pack-a-Punched Weapon to the higher levels, then you’ll need to visit the machines in the harder areas. You’ll want to make sure you upgrade your weapon before heading up to the next tier otherwise your damage output will be insufficient to tackle the enemies within.
