Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III

Getting The Ray Gun in MW3 Zombies

By
Shane Williams

The Ray Gun has been an iconic Weapon in Zombies since the beginning and typically you’ll only obtain it via the Mystery Box. However, Treyarch is trying something new with Modern Warfare 3, so in order to obtain the Ray Gun you’ll need to obtain a schematic and craft it! Read below to find out how.

How to Get The Ray Gun Weapon Schematic in MW3 Zombie

As mentioned above you’ll need to find the schematic whilst exploring Deadbolt and because the Ray Gun is one of the wonder weapons available in the game, it has a very low drop rate, but there are a few things you can do to increase your chances, such as playing and completing Contracts in the High Threat Zones. However, the enemies within these zones are extremely tough, so you’ll want to work on grabbing Perks, obtain a Legendary Rarity Weapon, and make sure it is Pack-a-Punched to the maximum level before attempting it. Once you’re fully equipped and make your way into the High Threat Zone you’ll want to keep completing the variety of available contracts until you get lucky enough to obtain the schematic via the Reward Rift.

With the Schematic in your possession, you’ll want to ignore everything else and beeline for the exfil to avoid dying to avoid losing it. When you return to the main menu, navigate over to your Rucksack and choose any of the available slots, then select the Schematic Crafting Option and choose Wonder Weapons to craft it. Unfortunately, there is a 48 Cooldown so you’ll want to save for special occasions. Alternatively, there are other methods to finding the Ray Gun that won’t be a permanent unlock, such as opening the Mystery Boxes or finding Acquisition Stash which can be found in Mercenary Strongholds.
