The Interceptor Mission in MWZ is a pain to complete, with its highly guarded enemies, armored trucks, and zombies that come to play out. In addition, the mission is quite tricky due to other players on the map and the somewhat random nature of things. Here’s a closer look at how to complete the Interceptor mission in MW3 Zombies.
Interceptor Walkthrough in MW3 Zombies¶

To get started in the Interceptor mission, you will need to enter a MWZ lobby. From there, there are a few important tasks you need to do:
- Find and Destroy a Mercenary Convoy
- Collect a Mercenary Stronghold Keycard.
To find the Mercenary Convoy, you need to look around the map and find three Armored Trucks. These trucks typically maneuver around the highway in an anti-clockwise position. However, they can spawn anywhere along it. They can also spawn just off the highway in the suburban areas near Merc strongholds or near strongholds inside the cities. There seems to be a tendency for the cars to spawn in the southeast and southwest of the map, but it is not always the case. It’s worth noting to help you track down the enemies. Simply go up to the location of these three trucks and destroy their guards and cars. One of the guards should drop the Mercenary Keycard. Don’t get this confused with the one armored truck driven by NPCs. They are mercenaries, yes, but, they are not Merc Convoys as it’s only one driver.
We recommend gearing up to complete the challenge and fight any Mercenary Convoy now or at any other point you want to do a Stronghold. Using the RGL and pack-a-punching it will make it a lot easier to destroy armored cars. The same goes for other launcher-type weapons, as the explosives will easily clear out Mercs taking cover or the cars themselves. Make sure to have a decent amount of plates, as Mercs are very good at penetrating them with their cracked aim. You can also take C4, or even get an SAE killstreak and air strike the convoy if you so wish.
Defeating a Mercenary Convoy and grabbing the Merc Stronghold keycard completes the Interceptor MW3 Zombies Mission.
With that said, solid guns and some explosives are generally the play. This should be enough for you to successfully locate Mercenary Convoys, and then beat them to grab the Keycard. With that done, you’ll have completed the MW3 Zombies Interceptor Mission and move deeper into the Chapter 1 mission of the storyline.
