Zombies have been a big part of the Call of Duty Franchise since World at War, but with Modern Warfare III around the corner, Treyarch is trying something new with the implementation of Field Upgrades. These are additional pieces of equipment that offer unique effects that’ll allow you to fight off the incoming wave of enemies more easily. Read below to find out what Field Upgrades are available at launch!

List of Zombie Field Upgrades in Modern Warfare 3¶
There will be a total of six Field Upgrades available from the launch of Modern Warfare 3.

| Energy Mine | Spawn an explosive, dealing massive damage to enemies who set it off. |
| Healing Aura | Heal all players immediately. |
| Frenzied Guard | Repair armor to full and force all enemies in the area to target you for 10 seconds. Enemy kills repair armor during this time. |
| Frost Blast | Damage enemies with the initial blast and slow those that enter the area of effect. |
| Tesla Storm | For 10 seconds, lightning connects to other players, stunning and damaging normal enemies. |
| Aether Shroud | Become invisible to zombies. |
What Does Energy Mine Do in Modern Warfare 3¶
The Energy Mine allows you to place an explosive on the floor which will deal large AoE Damage (Area of Effect) which is good for dealing with large groups of zombies at once.
What Does Healing Aura Do in Modern Warfare 3¶
The Healing Aura will restore all of the player’s and teammate’s health, but it has a long time to recharge so you’ll want to save it for when everyone is nearly at risk of being downed.
What Does Healing Aura Do in Modern Warfare 3¶
The Frenzied Guard will give you some temporary armor, but every zombie will focus on you for 10 seconds. You’ll only want to make use of this if you need to distract the zombies from your teammate, as they may be stuck in a corner.
What Does Frost Blast Do in Modern Warfare 3¶
The Frost Blast will unleash an AoE explosion which will damage and slow down all nearby enemies. You’ll want to use this Field Upgrade if you want to create some distance between you and the zombies.
What Does Tesla Storm Do in Modern Warfare 3¶
The Tesla Storm will cause lightning to connect to nearby players and stunning and damage normal enemies. Using this will give you time to reduce the number of enemies on the battlefield.
What Does Healing Aura Do in Modern Warfare 3¶
The Aether Shroud will cause you to become temporarily invisible which means enemies won’t attack you. This is useful if you find yourself needing a moment to restore your health or ammo.
