Scatter Mines in MW3

By
Shane Williams

There are a variety of Tactical Equipment available in Modern Warfare 3 and some will allow you to defend the objective or the area behind you, such as the Scatter Mines. This will explode when an enemy stands near it or steps on it. Read below to learn how to get the Scatter Mines.

Scatter Mines are a good tool for defensive players.

How to Get Scatter Mines in MW3

If you want to get your hands on the Scatter Mines, then it’s pretty simple as you’ll need to do is reach Level 18 which you can easily by completing challenges and bagging lots of kills in objective-based game modes. If you want more tips on the quickest way to level in MW3, then check out our Fast Leveling Tips page. However, you can still use the Scatter Mines before you reach level 18, as there’s some preset loadouts that already have it equipped.

Once you’ve got your hands on the Scatter Mines, we recommend you equip it alongside the Demolition Vest, as this will cause your Lethal and Tactical to regenerate every 25 seconds. You may now be wondering what’s the best use for it. As mentioned above, this device will explode when enemies enter its vicinity which makes it the perfect candidate to hold down objectives, such as placing it around the bomb in Search & Destroy. Alternatively, if you’re more of a TDM player, then the Scatter Mine is still useful as you can use it to block off doorways behind you which will prevent you from behind snuck up on while you’re holding a lane.
