How to Get the Bouncy Trophy/Achievement in Sea of Stars

By
Jarrod Garripoli

There are a number of trophies and achievements to be earned in Sea of Stars, most of which are fairly straightforward. However, there is one particular trophy/achievement that is skill based (yes, something that requires skill in a Japanese RPG), which is the Bouncy trophy/achievement. This page will talk about that trophy/achievement, as well as give tips and tricks on how to unlock it.

You will need to use Valere’s Moonerang and bounce it at least 25 times for this trophy/achievement.

How to Unlock the Bouncy Trophy/Achievement

Of all the trophies/achievements in Sea of Stars, this one might be one of the more annoying ones, if not the most annoying. One of the first special skills you have access to is Valere’s Moonerang. It costs 7 MP and when you use it, you throw a moon-shaped disc at your enemies. The catch is that you can time a block that will deflect the Moonerang to another enemy (or the same enemy again). There is actually no limit to the amount of times you can deflect it, but after each one, the Moonerang will get faster and faster.

The Moonerang gets so fast, that you will essentially be mashing the button. For this trophy/achievement, you will need to bounce the Moonerang a total of 25 times in a row, which is no easy feat, especially if you’re not good at keeping a rhythm. There is really no trick to unlocking this, though, as you just need practice with it and each battle is different in the timing. The reason for that is because Valere will position herself differently every time, whenever you perform this move.

Trying to unlock this trophy/achievement on a single enemy is not ideal, although it does depend on how lucky you get with the positioning of Valere. However, doing it against multiple enemies might be the best option, especially if all of the enemies are on one side of the screen. The more distance between Valere and the enemy there is, the more of a buffer you have once the Moonerang speeds up to the point of you mashing the button to deflect it.

(1 of 2) Bounce it back to the enemy like any other instance of doing a timed block.

There is a boss later on in the main story that could be perfect for this, though. In Autumn Hills, you fight a boss called Leaf Monster, which isn’t all too difficult of an encounter. However, every time you hit it with an attack, the boss will be knocked back a little bit. Another reason this boss is a good choice for this trophy/achievement (if you don’t have it by then) is that there is a gimmick where it doesn’t take too much damage, so you don’t have the threat of defeating the boss with your attacks.

Once you get the 25 bounces in a battle, the trophy/achievement will immediately unlock, so you won’t need to wait until you finish the battle or anything.
