Sea of Stars

All Question Pack Locations for the Quiz Master in Sea of Stars

By
Jarrod Garripoli

There’s a plethora of optional content in Sea of Stars and one of them is a side quest pertaining to someone named the Quiz Master. The name gives it away, as the Quiz Master will ask you a series of questions related to the game, and if you answer them all, you will receive a prize. However, in order to fully complete this side quest, you will have to find the other Question Packs out in the world. This page will list the locations of all the Question Packs. If you’re looking for a page with the answers, visit the All Quiz Master Answers page.

Keep an eye out for the Question Packs on your journey.

It should be noted that Question Pack #1 will unlock upon finding the Quiz Master. If you wish to know the location of the NPC, then visit the Where to Find the Quiz Master page.

Where to Find Question Pack #2 in Sea of Stars

It’s probable that you will find this Question Pack before you find the Quiz Master, as it’s located in the Port Town of Brisk. After doing the story bit there upon first arriving in town, you will be able to freely explore. From the save point by the shops, follow the docks to the east and keep going when it heads northeast. When you see some stairs, go up them and look just north to find an open door. Inside will be a NPC and a roulette wheel.

(1 of 5) Look for this building while you’re exploring the Port Town of Brisk.

Aptly named the BS Roulette (it’s called the Bonus Spin Roulette), you won’t be able to win, no matter how many times you play it. However, you do need to pay the 10G to play it once and lose, as there is a trick to winning. After losing once, head outside and you’ll see a NPC standing right next to the building. Speak to him and he offers you the winning number for the next roulette spin, if you pay him 90G. Do that and return to the wheel once more, picking the number 22. You should now win and your reward is Question Pack #2.

Where to Find Question Pack #3

(1 of 2) You can see a sparkle on the bookshelf in the one room of the Haunted Mansion.

You can see a sparkle on the bookshelf in the one room of the Haunted Mansion. (left), Inspect it to get Question Pack #3. (right)

To find this Question Pack, you will have to wait until you have access to the Haunted Mansion dungeon, which is where you will be going as the main plot point on Wraith Island. As you progress through this dungeon, you will have to make a Master Ghost Sandwich, then you will be told to “crown the king.” Working on this will have you in a room with some big bookshelves on the side. If you look closely, you will see something shining on one of the bookshelves. Check it out to get Question Pack #3.

Where to Find Question Pack #4

(1 of 2) When you first enter the Jungle Path, go west to the water

When you first enter the Jungle Path, go west to the water (left), and swim to the northwestern corner to find the chest with Question Pack #4. (right)

Question Pack #4 will be located in the Jungle Path area of Watcher Island, which is where you go to following the events of Mirth. You basically want the southern entrance to the Jungle Path, which is found from the docks of the island. Upon first entering the area, head west to the water and swim all the way to the northwestern corner, where you’ll find the chest with the Question Pack #4.

Where to Find Question Pack #5

You will find Question Pack #5 in the Songshroom Marsh area on Mesa Island. At some point in that area, you will visit Yomara in her hut, who gives you a key to unlock a door to continue forward. After unlocking that door, there will be a small bridge that has a Grassassin moving about right before it. Cross the bridge upon defeating those enemies (or just running past them) and look on the right side to spot a chest. This is the chest that contains Question Pack #5.

(1 of 3) Question Pack #5 is right in plain sight as you pass through Songshroom Marsh.

Where to Find Question Pack #6

Once you reach the Skylands section of the game, you will visit the Cloud Kingdom, the town up there. In the town, follow the left trail until you see your first giant. The blue crystal thing on the ground right by the giant is a teleporter, which will transport you to the inn. You will find the chest with Question Pack #6 inside the inn, in plain sight.

Where to Find Question Pack #7

For Question Pack #7, you will need to go to the Secret Oasis in the Cerulean Expanse. While it’s possible to go here as soon as you have access to the area, you normally wouldn’t know how to reach it until near the end of the game. Right before you’re set to go to the final story dungeon, head back to Repine and to the inn there. You should see a hooded figure there, who simply spouts what seems like nonsense. However, he is actually telling you some directions.

Question Pack #7 is found at the Secret Oasis, in one of the four chests there.

So, with that knowledge, head to the Cerulean Expanse and follow the given directions. It’s safe to ignore the drone during this bit, as it will just trigger enemy encounters. The path you need to go here is South, Southwest, Southeast, and South. If done correctly, then you will find yourself at the Secret Oasis. There will be four chests here, and one of them will contain Question Pack #7.

Where to Find Question Pack #8

Look next to this elevator towards of the end of the Sky Base for this Question Pack.

This one is found in the Sky Base dungeon, which is towards the end of the game. In fact, it’s found fairly far into the dungeon, so you will want to keep an eye on things as you make your way through it. During the dungeon, you will do a lot of things, but there will be elevators that you ride up to another floor. On the second floor, towards the end, you will find another elevator and if you look to the right of it, you should see a chest. Open that chest for Question Pack #8.

Where to Find Question Pack #9

The one door in Repine will require you to have a Cypher.

Question Pack #9 is located behind a locked door in Repine. This is a special locked door, as it requires something called a Cypher. To get this, you will first need four Data Strips. While three of them are easy to get, the fourth is located in the final story dungeon, Fleshmancer’s Lair. After collecting all four Data Strips, return to the house at the northern end of Repine and use the device on the left, as you enter, to get the Cypher.

Head into the build just south of that house, with the pink neon above its door. Use the Cypher on the door on the right side to open it, where you’ll find two chests. One of those chests will contain Question Pack #9. For more information on this side quest, visit the How to Make the Cypher page.

Where to Find Question Pack #10

The chest in the side room, right before the final ascent, will have Question Pack #10.

You will be venturing into the Fleshmancer’s Lair to get this one. It is located towards the end of the dungeon, where you see all of the cultists standing around in a room. In the room off to the side, with the campfire, there is a chest that contains Question Pack #10. It will be right before the ascent to the final story boss, so if you’re going up a lot of stairs, you’ve gone too far.

Where to Find Question Pack #11

The final one will be gotten during the True Ending sequence. During this bit, you will go to the Golden Pelican in the Port Town of Brisk. After the dinner inside the Golden Pelican, you will automatically receive Question Pack #11. For more information on doing this, see the How to Unlock the True Ending page.
