You will visit many different locations in Sea of Stars, and as you explore these places, you will come across many treasure chests. It’s always a good idea to open the chests that you find, since you can obtain new equipment, or even key items that might be used later. This page will detail all of the treasure chests found in Mooncradle and Zenith Academy.
How to Return to Mooncradle in Sea of Stars¶
It should be noted that you can’t collect any of the chests in the actual village, until much later in the game. This occurs after completing the events on Wraith Island, after which, you will gain a new way to travel. You will need to go to a new town, called Mirth, then you will be able to use the creature that throws you at the top of Sleeper Island. You will land back on Evermist Island, where you can then revisit Mooncradle and get the chest there.
The first two chests in the region are story-based, so you can’t miss them.
Treasure Chest 1 and 2¶
The first two chests found in these areas are story related, as they are in the trial area and you can’t miss them. These are the chests with the Ornate Stones, which you put in the nearby receptacles.
Treasure Chest 3¶
Upon returning to Mooncradle later in the game, head to the right side of the village and look for the big Celestial Willow tree. It’s a little hard to see, but there is a chest hidden behind the foliage of the tree. The chest contains the Celestial Willow Leaf artifact, which you can show to Teaks at any campfire.

Treasure Chest 4¶
This chest is close to the Celestial Willow, as you will want to head north from it. Follow that path, until you are on the right side of the main gate of the village. The perspective looks a little off, but you can actually climb onto the gate here, so do that and drop off the left side to reach the chest. You will find Music Sheet #1 inside that chest.
Treasure Chest 5¶
Head to the western side of the village, where you should see a field with some thorns coming out of the ground. Continue north from that, past the NPC with the small field and behind the building. In the little corner there is a chest, which will contain 25 Gold.

Treasure Chest 6¶
You will have to go to Zenith Academy for this chest, but you won’t be able to gain access to the chest right away. That’s because it’s in Moraine’s office and you need the key for it. To get this, you need to have visited Mirth enough that Moraine will have his house built. This will be located just south of Jirard, so keep going back and forth until it’s been constructed. Once it has, head inside to find a chest that will yield Moraine’s Office Key. Now you can return to Zenith Academy, open the door to Moraine’s office, and find the chest on the northern end; it contains a Moonstone Bracer. This gives +10 to Magic Attack, plus it will lower the cost of Valere’s Lunar Shield by 2 MP.
