Sea of Stars

All Chests in Mountain Trail in Sea of Stars

By
Jarrod Garripoli

You will visit many different locations in Sea of Stars, and as you explore these places, you will come across many treasure chests. It’s always a good idea to open the chests that you find, since you can obtain new equipment, or even key items that might be used later. This page will detail all of the treasure chests found in the Mountain Trail dungeon, as well as Sunglow Lake.

Treasure Chest 1

You can find a basket, with some food in it, at the far end of Sunglow Lake.

When you’re on the world map, you will see a little body of water that has a fish jumping out of it, to the left of the Mountain Trail. This is Sunglow Lake and is one of many fishing spots in the game. For the purpose of this page, ignore the fishing part and jump into the water (use the ledges on either side of the dock). Swim to the far end and you will see a basket there, so climb onto dry land and open it for 5x Dairy.

Treasure Chest 2

Upon entering the Mountain Trail after finishing up the Forbidden Cavern, there will be a cutscene that will have Garl join your party, at a camping spot. As soon as you regain control of the party, head north to find a save point. Right next to that save point will be an entrance to a cave. Climb the ledges inside that cave, to the top, then loot the chest at the left end, for an Abacus accessory. This handy item allows you to see the HP values for non-boss enemies.

(1 of 3) There is a cave entrance right next to the save spot.

Treasure Chest 3

After getting the first chest, exit the cave and climb the wall next to the save point. At the top, you will see some trees on your left and if you approach them, the camera will pan and reveal a chest at the far end. Find the path through the trees and open the chest for a Basic Armor.

Treasure Chest 4

Progress through the Mountain Trail dungeon, until you reach a second campfire/save point, inside a cave. There will also be a merchant here, so you know you’re in the correct spot. Climb out of the cave, defeat the enemies, then look along the southern end of the cliff up here. There will be a spot where you can jump down, so do that and enter the cave. Follow the path inside the cave, to the right side, and open the chest there for 2x Shiny Pearl.

Treasure Chest 5

After looting the previous chest, exit the cave and climb back up to the main trail. Just to the left will be a misty area, so drop down into the mist, on the northern side and go all the way to the left. It might be a little difficult to see, but there is a chest there, so open it for the Recipe: Chaudree.

(1 of 5) Drop down to this cave entrance from above.

Treasure Chest 6

The final chest in this area will require you to wait until later on in the game, as you need the Graplou key item (the grappling hook). If you have all of the shortcut ladders in place, then from the southern entrance, go right and climb the ladder just north of the bridge. To the right will be where you need to use the grappling hook, leading to a small island that has the chest, which contains a Rainbow Conch.
