How To Unlock¶
Capture at least four of the following fiends: [Aerouge], [Gandarewa], and [Imp].
Strategy¶
The only two things you will see from Vidatu is Ultima and Osmose, so its offense is limited. You can use Shell to limit the damage from Ultima, while Osmose will usually target the character with the highest current MP. Despite having no real resistances, Vidatu will always have NulAll active, so you cannot use elemental spells at all against it. That means the only means of magic you will want to use is non-elemental, like Holy, Flare or Ultima. Of course, its magic defense is also pretty high, as is its defense, so that low health is a bit misleading in some ways.
If you wish to deal some damage to it, you will want to use Armor Break, but it has some resistances to that. Thankfully, Auron’s Banishing Blade will always inflict Full Break, so you can deal with some of the higher stats that way. This should also help in dealing with Ultima, as it also inflicts Magic Break.
Vidatu is one of the easiest bosses here. If you hit hard enough, you will breeze through without seeing Ultima at all.
