Item Drops¶

The Tonberry is a rare fiend that can be found in the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth, usually more often in the green rooms. You can usually tell it’s a Tonberry by the noises that happen when the battle begins. The Tonberry will begin the battle far away from your party and on each of its turns, it will take a step forward. After four steps, it will attack with its knife, dealing physical damage. Note that while on its way forward to the party, it has a chance to counterattack with Karma, which inflicts damage depending on the number of fiends the character has defeated (should be the number of enemies defeated times 10).

If you happen to summon an Aeon in the battle, the Tonberry will use Voodoo on it, dealing 9,999 damage. Should you happen to be having trouble defeating one, the Tonberry can be put to sleep, then you can use magic to deal with it, since it will not counter while sleeping.
