Monster Hunter Generations

2-star Other Quests

By
Vincent Lau

Naturally, there’s always going to be a smattering of quests that are neither village requests nor required. You might not exactly feel inclined to do them, but they are just as important to building your career as any other quest! You got that?!

…actually in all honesty, do these quests only if you want to. But keep in mind that if you 100% all the quests in all the quest tiers, you’ll receive a special surprise….

Harvest Tour: Jurassic Frontier

Objective: Survive until time expires or deliver a Paw Pass Ticket

Location: Jurassic Frontier

Subquest: None

Notes: Do you have items you need to gather, but don’t want to go on a quest to hunt monsters just to retrieve them? That’s where Harvest Tours come in! Gather to your heart’s desire, then pick up the Paw Pass Ticket dropped in your supply box, and deliver that to the red delivery box. Piece of cake, and super convenient!

Harvest Tour: Dunes

Objective: Survive until time expires or deliver a Paw Pass Ticket

Location: Dunes

Subquest: None

Notes: Do you have items you need to gather, but don’t want to go on a quest to hunt monsters just to retrieve them? That’s where Harvest Tours come in! Gather to your heart’s desire, then pick up the Paw Pass Ticket dropped in your supply box, and deliver that to the red delivery box. Piece of cake, and super convenient!

Harvest Tour: Verdant Hills

Objective: Survive until time expires or deliver a Paw Pass Ticket

Location: Verdant Hills

Subquest: None

Notes: Do you have items you need to gather, but don’t want to go on a quest to hunt monsters just to retrieve them? That’s where Harvest Tours come in! Gather to your heart’s desire, then pick up the Paw Pass Ticket dropped in your supply box, and deliver that to the red delivery box. Piece of cake, and super convenient!

Harvest Tour: Arctic Ridge

Objective: Survive until time expires or deliver a Paw Pass Ticket

Location: Arctic Ridge

Subquest: None

Notes: Do you have items you need to gather, but don’t want to go on a quest to hunt monsters just to retrieve them? That’s where Harvest Tours come in! Gather to your heart’s desire, then pick up the Paw Pass Ticket dropped in your supply box, and deliver that to the red delivery box. Piece of cake, and super convenient!

Harvest Tour: Misty Peaks

Objective: Survive until time expires or deliver a Paw Pass Ticket

Location: Misty Peaks

Subquest: None

Notes: Do you have items you need to gather, but don’t want to go on a quest to hunt monsters just to retrieve them? That’s where Harvest Tours come in! Gather to your heart’s desire, then pick up the Paw Pass Ticket dropped in your supply box, and deliver that to the red delivery box. Piece of cake, and super convenient!

A Berry Good Idea

Attack from behind as they eat!

Objective: Deliver 3 Ancient Berries

Location: Jurassic Frontier

Subquest: Deliver 2 Water Lily Roots

Notes: In order to obtain Ancient Berries , wait until you see Larinoth , the brachiosaurus-like herbivores that frequent Jurassic Frontier, nibble on the tops of trees. Then attack them from behind. They will drop a shiny—an Ancient Berry! If you wish to fulfill the subquest, you must wait until the Larinoth attempt to drink. That’s when they’ll drop the Water Lily Root .

A Fern is Forever

Objective: Deliver 20 Unique Ferns

Location: Jurassic Frontier

Subquest: Deliver 5 Abyssal Mushrooms

Notes: You know the drill by now with these things. It’s just double the standard number of Unique Ferns. That makes it extra unique! This quest is unstable and Great Maccao might show up so keep your eyes and ears peeled.

Slay the Genprey!

Objective: Slay 10 Genprey

Location: Dunes

Subquest: Deliver 2 Carapaceon Brains

Notes: Welcome to the Dunes! If you haven’t been here before, be sure to bring Cool Drinks during the day and Hot Drinks during the night due to fluctuating temperatures. The Dunes is the homeland of the Genprey and Gendrome so make sure you kill 10 of the underlings. Genprey are hanging around by the dozen in area 7 and will continuously respawn. Carapaceon Brains are obtained by killing Hermitaurs.

Birthday Berries

Objective: Deliver 5 Tropical Berries

Location: Dunes

Subquest: Deliver 10 Fossilized Bones

Notes: These account items can be found in any berry spot and also the cactus with flowers scattered throughout the Dunes. Mine for fossilized bones if you are so inclined.

Liver of Legend!

Objective: Deliver 5 Piscine Livers

Location: Dunes

Subquest: Slay 5 Cephalos

Notes: Slay Cephalos, baby Cephadrome, for a chance to get the Piscine Liver. Use Sonic Bombs to get them to come out of the sand. They frequent areas 2 and 7. Since you need to get 5 Piscine Livers, there’s a chance you’ll have slain at least 5 Cephalos to get there, easily fulfilling your subquest!

Bullfango Tango

Objective: Slay 10 Bullfango

Location: Verdant Hills

Subquest: Wound Velocidrome’s head

Notes: You must complete “Hunt Down the Velocidrome!” for this quest to appear. Check out areas 1, 2, 3, and 4 for some Bullfango to tango. They are the tusked boars you see and will happily charge at you regardless of whether you’re actually attacking or not. The environment is unstable, but break Velocidrome’s crest and you’ll be well rewarded.

Prime Premium Sashimi

When you see the bait bob, press A!

Objective: Deliver 3 Premium Sashimi

Location: Verdant Hills

Subquest: Deliver a Goldenfish

Notes: You must complete “Hunt Down the Velocidrome!” for this quest to appear. There is a fishing area in the base camp but it’s not going to give you Premium Sashimi. Instead, head on out to area 11. The large, red fish are Premium Sashimi. If you don’t see one spawned when you walk in, enter and exit the area to refresh the pond until you see one.

Or, just keep on fishing and as fish spawn into the pool, there is a 10% chance of a Premium Sashimi appearing. Fish that appear won’t leave unless you exit the area or fish them out, so be patient. The large, gold fish are aptly named Goldenfish and you’ll probably pick up a few along the way, perfect for fulfilling the subquest.

A Pack of Blangos

Objective: Slay 10 Blangos

Location: Arctic Ridge

Subquest: Mount and topple monster twice

Notes: This quest will appear after completion of “The Mountain Roughrider”. The environment is unstable and Bulldrome might (i.e. will) appear. Check out areas 6 and 8 for Blangos. They’re basically monkeys. Bring Hot Drinks!

Medicinal Mountain Herbs

Objective: Deliver 10 Mountain Herbs

Location: Arctic Ridge

Subquest: Deliver 2 Popo Tongues

Notes: Areas 1, 2, 6, and 7 are good areas to start out foraging for these herbs. Any white flowers will have a chance to give you Mountain Herbs. If you kill and carve the Popo loitering around area 1, you could deliver some Popo Tongues and fulfill the sidequest too. You need to have completed “The Mountain Roughrider” to see this quest.

Howling Harassment

Objective: Slay 15 Jaggia

Location: Misty Peaks

Subquest: Wound Arzuros’s front leg

Notes: You must complete “Arzuros the Azure Beast”. Arzuros might show up as a guest monster, but if you break his wrists, you’ll get some sweet subquest rewards. Jaggia are the larger, droopy-eared of the Jaggi. So if you kill any regular Jaggi, it won’t contribute to your kill count!

Fungal Fad

Objective: Deliver 10 Unique Mushrooms

Location: Misty Peaks

Subquest: Deliver 5 Super Sprouts

Notes: You must complete “Arzuros the Azure Beast”. Areas 2, 5, and 7 are littered with mushrooms. If you want Super Sprouts, go to area 3, the Felyne camp of Misty Peaks, and you’ll find atop a ledge an infinite spot that gives you Super Sprouts.

Jurassic Frontier Accounting

Objective: Earn 1,000 Wycademy Points

Location: Jurassic Frontier

Subquest: Hunt a Great Maccao

Notes: Is just a regular old Harvest Tour not good enough for you? Then try an Accounting tour! Not only should you gather up useful materials, you need to gather up Account Items, then deliver them to the delivery box to fill up your resource point quota. Additionally these quests are unstable and the subquest target is guaranteed to show up and rain on your parade, so be a dear and take it out, why don’t you?
