Monster Hunter Generations

Plesioth

Areas Start Roam Rest
Misty Peaks 7 6 8
Deserted Island 10 5, 9 7

Plesioth, the derpiest of the derpy Piscine Wyverns, loves to stay underwater and chill out in the oceans and lakes, yet in this game you cannot fight in the water? You can probably guess what happens next… yes, if you meet Plesioth in Misty Peaks, it is in the water out of range of you because the map ends before the water and well, Plesioth is in the water. You can fish Plesioth out with frogs from nearby fishing points, but if you didn’t bring frogs then you’re out of luck (you’re also out of luck if Plesioth spots you).

As with Cephadrome and Lavasioth, many of Plesioth’s hitboxes are dissonant from where it actually is, and this is only exacerbated by Plesioth being the largest of the three.

Plesioth is weakest to thunder and fire.

Attack Explanation
Side Chomp Plesioth will do a pitiful little side chomp. Knocks you on your butt and now has the potential to put you to sleep! Garrr
Double 180 Tail Swing Plesioth will swing its tail around twice, each time doing a half-circle revolution. The hitbox is very strange and can hit you even if the tail doesn’t actually touch you.
Hip Check Plesioth will turn slightly and then lunge its body weight to the side. Has an EXTREMELY disparate hitbox, capable of hitting you even if you’re on the opposite side near the head, for one of the sillier examples. Plesioth can also “wind up” for an even more powerful hit
Water Dive Plesioth will return to the water and chill there. Noted because it’s annoying and you just have to wait.
Groud Wriggle Plesioth will charge at you by belly flopping and wriggling towards you
Water Laser Plesioth will spit out a thin but powerful water laser. Has immense range. Will sometimes sweep it up and down, and in rage mode from side to side. Plesioth can perform this while out in the water by popping up
Chicken Run Plesioth will try to stand up right, hold out its wings, and waddle run. Mentioned because it’s so derpy it’s cute, and indicates when Plesioth is about to area change or return to the water.
