Agnaktor is a Leviathan first introduced in Monster Hunter Tri . Defying most of the leviathans of its day, Agnaktor burrows in lava . Pretty hardcore, right? Agnaktor is awesome embodied and don’t tell me otherwise!

Agnaktor’s biggest gimmick is its lava armor, which it uses to protect its body. When it hardens, it does just that: deflects any and all blademaster weapons unless you have Mind’s Eye or are using a weapon ability that has Mind’s Eye attached (Switch Axe’s sword mode, for instance). However, once Agnaktor burrows into the lava, which it will do frequently, its armor softens, and you can attack as usual, and even break it off, leaving that part of the body exposed until Agnaktor dies (or kills you three times). The end result? A monster with a ton of breakable parts! Which makes the fight really fun!

Agnaktor is weakest to water and ice. With all of its magma armor gone, it develops a weakness to dragon.

Attack Explanation
Beak Slam Agnaktor will drive its beak into the ground as it moves forward. Agnaktor will do this around three times in a row. If its beak is hardened, this will soften its beak armor.
Slithering Charge Agnaktor will slither forward to bowl over you.
Hipcheck Agnaktor will slowly position itself so that its profile faces you, then it will sidewind towards you rapidly to deal hefty damage. Aerial Style dodges aren’t quite tall enough to get over its hitbox without some luck and skill.
Fire Laser Agnaktor will spit out a fire laser and let it sweep around itself. Sometimes when it pops out of the ground, it will only pop out from chest up, and then it will perform the fire laser and sweep it around itself that way.
Lava Burrow Agnaktor will burrow into the lava and is very choosy about where it pops back out. It loves to un-burrow itself right below you.
Lava Charge Agnaktor, while burrowed, will half-expose its body and charge towards you. Deals heavy damage and Fireblight.
Body Whip Agnaktor will coil up, and then rapidly uncoil itself to whip its tail at you.
