Monster Hunter Generations

Nibelsnarf

By
Vincent Lau

The desert devourer.

Areas Start Roam Rest

Nibelsnarf is a simple Leviathan. It chomp chomp chomps, and if it misses, it chomp chomp chomps again. Nibble nibble snarf snarf snarf.

Okay, time to be (kind of) serious. Nibelsnarf is a Leviathan inhabiting the sand instead of lava or water. Novel idea, right? Nibelsnarf is identified easily by its overly large mouth and bright pink gills that show up when enraged. Oh, and you can also fish Nibelsnarf out of the sand If you manage to incapacitate or flinch Nibelsnarf at opportune moments, it’ll loll back in the sand. Sheathe your weapon and you’ll see a unique fishing icon. Button mash and wiggle your left circle pad like your life depends on it and you’ll fish it out of the sand and leave it flailing.

Oh, also Nibelsnarf can swallow Barrel Bombs if you leave them in its path. When they explode inside it, that’s a prime time to fish out a giant fish.

Nibelsnarf is weakest to ice and thunder.

Attack Explanation
Chomp Chomp Nibelsnarf will chomp-chomp you. Sometimes it just chomps but other times it chomp-chomps at different angles.
Chomp Charge Nibelsnarf will charge at you by swimming quickly through the sand, all the while holding its mouth open. If it reaches the end of its charge, it might whirl around and come at you again, especially if enraged, up to three times.
360 Chomp Spin Nibelsnarf will wind up briefly and then do a full 360 revolution, throwing its entire body out of the sand and dealing hefty damage.
Sand Burrow Nibelsnarf will dive into the sand and then pop out from right beneath you to send you flying. If it misses, it’ll just burrow back in and try again.
Sandblaster Nibelsnarf will suck in a large amount of sand (the wind up time is long, you can’t miss it) and then it’ll spit it out in a giant funnel shape while slowly turning to cover maximum range.
Gillblaster Nibelsnarf will sometimes spit sand backwards at you using its gills. Tricky, tricky!
