Like any other quest tier, there’s a bunch of quests in this tier that are neither village requests nor key quests. However, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do them. There’s plenty of goodies to be had from the following quests provided, so you should do them!

Harvest Tour: Volcano¶

Objective: Survive until time expires or deliver a Paw Pass Ticket

Location: Volcano

Subquest: None

Notes: Do you have items you need to gather, but don’t want to go on a quest to hunt monsters just to retrieve them? That’s where Harvest Tours come in! Gather to your heart’s desire, then pick up the Paw Pass Ticket dropped in your supply box, and deliver that to the red delivery box. Piece of cake, and super convenient!

Wyvern of the Wind¶

Objective: Hunt a Nargacuga

Location: Jurassic Frontier

Subquest: Mount and topple monster twice

Notes: Complete “Hungry Eyes” to unlock this quest. This is basically “Hungry Eyes” except now it’s in Jurassic Frontier and the subquest is different. You’ve already defeated Nargacuga once, so you can do it again!

Unlock the Secret to…¶

Objective: Deliver 2 Eternal Fossils

Location: Jurassic Frontier

Subquest: Sever Rathian’s tail

Notes: Eternal Fossils are big and hard to carry similar to eggs and Khezu Whelps. Thankfully, they don’t drain your health, but they are fragile and will break if you get hit or you drop them. Go to area 11 to mine up one, truck it back to base camp, rinse and repeat. Kill the Rathian to make life easier, or else just Paintball her to keep track of where she’s going!

Mining: The Final Frontier¶

Objective: Deliver 2 Meteor Chunks

Location: Dunes

Subquest: Hunt a Volvidon

Notes: If you’ve already completed “Unlock the Secret to…” then this plays out very similarly. I highly recommend you go ahead and just kill the Volvidon before proceeding, it’ll ease up on life. Mine up the Meteor Chunks from area 8 and then haul it back to base camp.

Hunt-a-thon: Yian Kut-Ku¶

Objective: Hunt 2 Yian Kut-Ku before time expires or deliver a Paw Pass Ticket

Location: Verdant Hills

Subquest: None

Notes: Do you need Yian Kut-Ku materials? If so, keep on hunting them until time expires! Or, just defeat 2 and claim your Paw Pass Ticket.

The New Tenant¶

Objective: Hunt a Blangonga

Location: Arctic Ridge

Subquest: Slay 8 Blangos

Notes: Blangonga is a new monster you will face. He is a Fanged Beast, so similar to Arzuros and Lagombi except that he is much more primate-esque, putting him on a similar level to monsters such as Congalala and Rajang. He has a really strong upper body that he won’t hesitate to use to do things like throw you, slam the ground to cause tremors, or throw ice at you. When he’s in rage mode, his minions, the Blangos, will also become enraged, so be sure to kill them and get that subquest done!

Lagombi Lair¶

Objective: Hunt 2 Tetsucabra

Location: Deserted Island

Subquest: Deliver 1 Toad Tear

Notes: Similar to other quests where you have to hunt double the monster, the two Tetsucabras are likely to be overlapping each other’s areas quite a bit. So bring Dung Bombs to avoid a toad-tastrophe.

Deviled Legs¶

Objective: Hunt 2 Lagombi

Location: Arctic Ridge

Subquest: Deliver 1 Beast Tear

Notes: Double the Lagombi is double the fun! Since they’re the exact same monster they’ll probably overlap in terms of areas a lot, so bring Dung Bombs to prevent mayhem and a potential bear-tastrophe.

Marshlands Mission¶

Objective: Hunt a Shogun Ceanataur

Location: Marshlands

Subquest: Slay 8 Ceantaurs

Notes: Complete “Crustacean Infatuation” to unlock this non-key quest. Unlike the other, where you have to capture, this is a simple kill quest. Avoid Bleeding and you should be fine.

Crustacean Infestation¶

Objective: Slay 10 Ceanataurs

Location: Marshlands

Subquest: Break Shogun’s shell

Notes: Shogun Ceanataur will show up as a guest monster to save his beloved crab minions. If you want to complete the subquest, break his shell and then kill him while you’re at it. The little Ceanataurs are scattered everywhere and they’re basically blue versions of Hermitaurs so have fun!

Tumbling Troublemaker¶

Objective: Hunt a Volvidon

Location: Volcano

Subquest: None

Notes: Rounding out our trio of bears is Volvidon! He likes to roll around a lot like a hedgehog on steroids without the spikes, and his long tongue can lash out and get you if you’re not careful. Volvidon’s saliva will paralyze you, and Volvidon can also fart to cause you to stink. Not only is it gross, but it prevents you from using items!

Completion of the quest unlocks the 4-star village quest “Jurassic Treasure: The Bug”.

Rocking the Uroktor¶

Objective: Slay 10 Uroktor

Location: Volcano

Subquest: None

Notes: Uroktor are juvenille Agnaktor . They click their beaks to communicate to each other and love to burrow and swim through magma and lava. Make sure you kill 10 (gasp! You’re killing children!) and avoid the guest monster who might show up to ruin your day.

Great Ore Discovery¶

Objective: Deliver 15 pieces of Coal

Location: Volcano

Subquest: Deliver 1 Powderstone

Notes: Coal can be mined everywhere, in every mining node you run into. It’s quite common, so it should be easy to collect 15. Go to area 6 to mine up a Powderstone, it’s basically a less disgusting Khezu Whelp. It’s a very hot and fragile stone that you have to treat like an egg that will sap your health. Of course, similar to the Khezu Whelp, it’s completely optional.

Volcano Accounting¶

Objective: Earn 1,000 Wycademy Points

Location: Deserted Island

Subquest: Hunt a Tetsucabra

Notes: Is just a regular old Harvest Tour not good enough for you? Then try an Accounting tour! Not only should you gather up useful materials, you need to gather up Account Items, then deliver them to the delivery box to fill up your resource point quota. Additionally these quests are unstable and the subquest target is guaranteed to show up and rain on your parade, so be a dear and take it out, why don’t you?
