4-star Purr-owler Quests

To round off your selection of 4-star quests, here are the quests that your cat will need to pick up the slack for! Go and get ’em, tiger!

Great Maccao Headbreaker

Objective: Wound Great Maccao’s head

Location: Jurassic Frontier

Subquest: None

Notes: You need to complete the 3-star Prowler quest “Bug Reports” to unlock this quest. If you kill the Great Maccao before you break its crest, you will fail , so focus all of your attacks on the head. I highly recommend you use Boomerangs, and if you can, use Big and Piercing Boomerangs in tandom with each other so your aim doesn’t have to be as sharp.

Completion of this quest will unlock the rest of the Prowler quests here, and also increases your maximum Palico hire number to 48 Palicos! Wowzas. You’ll also unlock the Arena Quest “Grudge Match: Gypceros” for some reason.

Dash it All

Objective: Slay 10 Bullfango

Location: Verdant Hills

Subquest: None

Notes: This should be old hat for you, with the only difference being you’re a cat, not a human. You need to complete “Great Maccao Headbreaker” before you’ll see this quest pop up.

An Offer You Cant Refuse

Objective: Deliver 3 Gargwa Eggs

Location: Misty Peaks

Subquest: None

Notes: There’s a few key differences between egg delivery as a hunter and as a human. First off, without stamina, you are free to go as far as you want. However, you can’t dash, you can only walk slowly. So egg delivery as a cat is actually pretty frustrating. Thankfully, it’s just Gargwa Eggs, and the quest is stable. You need to complete “Great Maccao Headbreaker” to see this quest.

The Secret Ingredient

Objective: Deliver 4 Carapaceon Brains

Location: Volcano

Subquest: None

Notes: Defeat the crabs scuttling around for a chance at these apparently-amazing Carapaceon Brains! The quest is unstable. You need to complete “Great Maccao Headbreaker” for this quest to unlock.

Marshlands Fishing?

Objective: Deliver 3 Goldenfish

Location: Marshlands

Subquest: None

Notes: You can’t use Goldenfish Bait unfortunately, so it’s going to be a bit of a RNG-fest, this quest. Thankfully, it’s just Goldenfish, and in the process you’ll probably snag some more useful fish too. You need to complete 2 4-star Prowler Quests for this quest to appear, and if you complete this plus the quest below, “Arctic Point Expedition”, you will unlock the 5-star Prowler Quest “Blood Red Marshlands”.

Completion of this quest also lands you with the Fish Market for Neko (means “Cat”)’s trading carts!

Arctic Point Expedition

Objective: Earn 1,000 Wycademy Points

Location: Arctic Ridge

Subquest: None

Notes: Unfortunately that’s a lot more Wycademy Points for you to collect as a cat, but you can do it! Complete at least 2 4-star Prowler Quests to see this quest pop up. Completing this plus the quest above, “Marshlands Fishing?” will unlock the 5-star Prowler Quest “Blood Red Marshlands”.

Completion of this quest will increase the base level at which Palicos are scouted for you to hire. That means less leveling up for you to do.
