Dragon's Dogma 2

The Provisioner's Blight Walkthrough - Harspuds & Salubrious Draughts

By
Craig Robinson

The Provisioner’s Blight is one of the side quests that players can encounter at the start of the game, helping the local militia at the "Borderwatch Outpost" iconBorderwatch Outpost. If you do the legwork for the guards, you’ll be tasked with finding a guard out in the wilds collecting flowers. The only issue is, he wants you to do it. So, here’s a closer look at how to complete the Provisioner’s Blight quest in "Dragon" iconDragon’s Dogma 2, featuring creating "Salubrious Draught" iconSalubrious Draughts and Collecting "Harspud" iconHarspuds.

This guide teaches you how to complete the Provisioner’s Blight quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2, featuring locations of Harspuds, and how to make Salubrious Draughts.

How to Complete Provisioner’s Blight in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Players must find an NPC called Markus out in the fields to complete the quest. He is located a short distance from the Borderwatch outpost. Follow the main road north out of the camp, then travel. Cross over from the waterway leading to the waterfall, then climb the cliff on the north side of the stream, next to the bend in the road. You should find Markus on top of it, and you can hand him your "Provisioner's Note" iconProvisioner’s Note. From there, you can help him collect the materials you need, which are:

  • 3x Harspuds
  • 2x Salubrious Draughts

Below are sections on finding and crafting the materials to make farming easier for this quest.

Harspud locations in Dragon’s Dogma 2’s Early Game

To get Harspuds, players need to look for the potato crop out in the wilderness. Some of the best spots we’ve found in the local area are:

  • Marty’s Resting Place: This is a small POI located north of "Melve" iconMelve, next to the stone bridge. There are a few crops around the road and a cliff edge overlooking the water.
  • Eastern Road from Melve, south of Borderwatch: Travel directly south from Borderwatch until you reach the chasm’s other side. You should find a spiral road, with a blocked cave with a bolder. Follow the trail to a statue, and you can get around five Harspuds near the statue.

(1 of 2) You can identify the common Harspud plant from the Potato crop model out in the wild. They are very common in wilderness areas.

You’ll also find the odd bit here or there on your travels as is, so keep an eye on them, and check your companion’s inventory in case they’ve picked stuff up without you knowing.

How to Craft Salubrious Draughts in Dragon’s Dogma 2

To complete the Provisioner’s Blight quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you also need two Salubrious Draughts. To craft the potion, players will need to combine any fruit with some form of early-game weed. You’re likely best combining "Apple" iconApples with "Greenwarish" iconGreenwarish, as those two crops are very common. If you’ve been doing some traveling already, you’ll likely have a lot of both plants, ready to combine into items.

Combine basic fruits with basic plants, and you’ll likely craft Salubrious Draughts in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Here’s an example of Grapes and Greens although Apples and Strawberries work fine too.

If not, then there are some nearby crops you can gather for the Provisioner’s Blight Quest. There are some "Strawberry" iconStrawberry and Grape bushes just off the trail around Markus. Make sure to check the crops near the stream, and you will find Strawberries, "Grapes" iconGrapes, and some Greenwarish. You should be able to get enough to combine them into two Salubrious Draughts without having to leave the area.

Once you have your Harspuds and your Draught, return to Markus on that hill, and deliver the items to him. You will then be done with the quest. Feel free to return to the Borderwatch outpost, and you can now complete the Provisioner’s Blight Quest. You will receive one "Waking Powder" iconWaking Powder to cure yourself or your pawns from "Sleep" iconSleep issues from Markus upon giving him the materials, and you’ll then get 900 G and a "Dried Fruit" iconDried Fruit from Geoffrey upon your return to camp.

With that said, you’re now done with the Provisioner’s Blight Quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2. There are still some other quests in the area, with more awaiting you from Melve, and beyond.

You are the Arisen, fated to confront the Dragon’s Dogma, and the initial path you take is a familiar one to those who played the original, but you’ll soon find that there’s more to this story than meets the eye.
