Dragon's Dogma 2

Put A Spring In Thy Step Walkthrough - Dragon's Dogma 2

By
Echo Apsey

After exiting "Drabnir's Grotto" iconDrabnir’s Grotto in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you will stumble upon an old man on the path nearby called Gautstafr. He will ask you for some wildflowers kicking off this quest. Fraught with dangers, completing this quest isn’t quite as simple as it initially seems, so we have broken down each step and how you can take on some of the fights you will encounter when helping Gautstafr.

Find Wildflowers

Chances are you will already have Wildflowers in your inventory by the time you reach Gautstafr. These can be any of the herbs scattered around the map like "Morningtide" iconMorningtide. If you don’t have enough, simply continue south a bit and you will find more than enough. After giving Gautstafr the herbs, he will ask you to visit his house for a reward.

This is just north at the "Windwalker's Home" iconWindwalker’s Home, also the home of "Cliodhna" iconCliodhna, his wife.

Take a small detour north to visit the Windwalker’s Home.

Upon arriving, Gautstafr and Cliodhna will be talking about his back pain and bringing strangers to their home, eventually inviting you in. As Gautstafr looks for your reward, Cliodhna will mention going to the nearby hot springs to ease the pain. However, Gaustafr isn’t easy to persuade. So instead of heading off by himself, you can volunteer and escort him.

Pursuing this and finishing off this quest is worth doing as at the end you will also unlock the Magick Archer Vocation.

Escort Gautstafr to Geyser Hamlet

The journey to the Hot Springs isn’t too far, as it is located within the "Volcanic Island Camp" iconVolcanic Island Camp nearby. However, you will face a lot of enemies. Most of them won’t be an issue as they will be simply goblins and "Saurian" iconSaurian variants - "Magma Scale" iconMagma Scale. However, when you reach one of the last caves, you will run into a "Goreminotaur" iconGoreminotaur. This is an enraged variant of the regular "Minotaur" iconMinotaur.

It is a much tougher fight. It likes to charge into you like a raging bull. However, because of this it can very easily be knocked off balance and stunned. When it has been stunned with a few attacks from you and your pawns, you can wipe out its health bar extremely quickly. Two stuns and it should be dead. You also don’t have to worry about Gautstafr getting killed here.

(1 of 2) Coming across this in the cavern is a bit of a jump scare.

From there you can continue on to the camp and up to the hot springs. Upon talking with the vendor there, you will enter the hot springs, take a nice relaxing dip in the nude, and finish off the quest. Upon completion, Cliodhna will reveal she was tailing you the entire time and give you the "Magick Archer" iconMagick Archer Vocation. You can then go back to her house on the world map to unlock some additional skills for the class and master it.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the long-awaited sequel to a predecessor that gained a cult following for its quirky pawns and charming jank, not to mention the diverse combat options that came with access to several unique vocations. All of that and more is expanded upon with DD2, while some of the mechanics have been simplified to make them more accessible, but still retaining that unapologetic focus on rewarding exploration at the heart of its gameplay. You are the Arisen, fated to confront the Dragon’s Dogma, and the initial path you take is a familiar one to those who played the original, but you’ll soon find that there’s more to this story than meets the eye. In this guide, we cover the following:
