Dragon's Dogma 2

Should You Sell Onyx, Jasper, and Tiger Eye Or Keep Them?

By
Echo Apsey

On your odyssey through Dragon’s Dogma 2, you will pick up a lot of items, most of which are useful and immediately obvious what purpose they have. However, some of the stranger resources you can find are gems like "Onyx" iconOnyx, "Jasper" iconJasper, and "Tiger Eye" iconTiger Eye - all of which say they can be sold. But is there any additional reason to keep them or other use for them?

If you are unsure or they are taking up space in your storage here is what all three can be used for and if you should keep them or flog them off for some extra Gold.

Sell or Keep Onyx, Jasper, and Tiger Eye in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

You want to sell Onyx, Jasper, and Tiger Eye gems to vendors and shopkeepers throughout the world as they are not used for crafting. You can also give them to NPCs to raise your affinity and closeness with them, but their main use is to earn some Gold. However, each gem is rare in a specific location, so you want to sell them where they are scarcely found for significantly more.

Onyx should be sold in Vermund and "Vernworth" iconVernworth. Jasper gems should be sold around Battahl and in "Bakbattahl" iconBakbattahl, where they are extremely rare. Finally, Tiger Eyes should be sold in Elven Lands in "Dragon" iconDragon’s Dogma 2, like "Sacred Arbor" iconSacred Arbor.

Be sure to sell your gems or gift them if you want become close with another.

Thankfully, these items don’t actually weigh that much so if you stock up on them you won’t have to worry about becoming over-encumbered because of them. It isn’t great to have a bunch of items you aren’t using in your inventory, so unless you want to keep them, it’s best to get shot of them the next time you are in a location where the gem is rare.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the long-awaited sequel to a predecessor that gained a cult following for its quirky pawns and charming jank, not to mention the diverse combat options that came with access to several unique vocations. All of that and more is expanded upon with DD2, while some of the mechanics have been simplified to make them more accessible, but still retaining that unapologetic focus on rewarding exploration at the heart of its gameplay. You are the Arisen, fated to confront the Dragon’s Dogma, and the initial path you take is a familiar one to those who played the original, but you’ll soon find that there’s more to this story than meets the eye. In this guide, we cover the following:
