How to find every collectible in the Dragon Beach area in God of War Ragnarok, including Nornir Chests, Lore, Buried Treasure and Yggdrasil Rifts. Some collectibles may not be obtainable on your first visit, in which case this guide will mention if that’s the case with as few spoilers as possible. None of the collectibles in God of War: Ragnarok are missable, as you can come back later in post-game.

How to Find Dragon Beach

During the main quest The Quest for Tyr you’ll travel to Svartalfheim, passing through the Aurvangar Wetlands and Nidavellir as you seek answers. Eventually you’ll be tasked with finding a dwarf named Durlin, which will take you into the Bay of Bounty. Dragon Beach is a subregion along the southeastern end of the Bay of Bounty - just follow the coast northeast from Nidavellir and you should run into one of its two boat docks.

When you arrive, be sure to sweep the island before you start hunting for collectibles, as the place is infested with Tatzelwurms.

(1 of 6) You’ll find the Nornir Chest east, northeast of the bridge pillar in the middle of Dragon Beach.

How to Open the Nornir Chest on Dragon Beach

After the Tatzelwurms are vanquished, make your way to a large wooden bridge support in the middle of the beach. This area’s lone Nornir chest is nestled among some rocks to the east, northeast. As usual, you’ll need to find and destroy three rune-rocks to open this chest, and in this case one trick is used to conceal all three runes - they’re obscured by geysers. In effect, then, you’re looking for geysers - find a spout of water and your rune is probably right behind it.

  • Rune 1God of War: Ragnarok Screenshot- The first rune is just behind the Nornir chest itself. Hit the rock under the geyser with a Leviathan Axe and you’ll spot the rune rock on a ledge.

  • Rune 2God of War: Ragnarok Screenshot- From the Nornir chest head south to find a geyser between a crane and a dragon statue. Freeze the geyser and you’ll see your rune rock behind a gate. The gate complicates matters a bit, but all you need to do is circle around the boulder the dragon statue is perched upon to get a clear shot at the rune rock.

  • Rune 3God of War: Ragnarok Screenshot- For the third and final rune rock, head to the western end of the beach to find another crane, to the left (west) of which is a geyser. Put it on ice to spot the rune rock, then smash the rune rock with the Leviathan Axe.

Return to the Nornir chest after destroying all three rune rocks to find either an Udinn Apple or a Horn of Blood Mead.

Examine the runes to pick up the Rune Reads - Don’t Breath lore collectible.

Where to Find the Lore on Dragon Beach

There’s one snippet of Lore on Dragon Beach, and it’s not remotely well hidden. Make your way to the eastern end of the beach and search for some blowing blue runes on the wooden structure here. When you investigate the runes you’ll get the Lore Rune Reads - Don’t Breathe.

(1 of 2) You’ll find a Loot Lizard under a wooden structure along the northern end of Dragon Beach.

You’ll find a Loot Lizard under a wooden structure along the northern end of Dragon Beach. (left), Climb a chain to get above the Loot Lizard, then throw your axe through a hole in the floor to strike it’s back. (right)

How to Kill the Loot Lizard on Dragon Beach

While not technically a collectible, there is one Ormr (aka, Loot Lizard) on Dragon Beach. To find it, search under the wooden structure along the northern end of the beach. As usual, the evasive critter will burrow if you get too close or attempt to strike it from the front.

Along the same structure where the Loot Lizard dwells you’ll find a chain. Climb it to reach an elevated platform, and note the hole in the floor to the left (west). Position yourself so you can see down into the hole and you should find an angle where you can strike at the Loot Lizard’s back - just toss the Leviathan Axe through the hole in the floor to dispatch the beast, then climb down and collect the treasure it drops.

Where to Find the Yggdrasil Rift on Dragon Beach

The Yggdrasil Rift on the Dragon Beach can’t be accessed until you have the Draupnir Spear, which is acquired during the Forging Destiny main quest.

You can then find it just after jumping over the the platform from the spirit where you acquire The Lost Treasure favor. Turn west to see a fallen structure which you can climb under, and you’ll see the rift on the other side. This one spawns a powerful Wulver and continuously spawns Nightmares, so you’ll need to kill it quickly by using all of your most powerful runic attacks and combos.

(1 of 3) Crawl under this fallen structure to find the Yggdrasil Rift on the other side.

Where to Find the Washed Ashore Buried Treasure on Dragon Beach

The Washed Ashore Treasure Map can be found on Alberich Island. You will need to collect it before you can access the Buried Treasure on Dragon Beach. Once you’ve done this, just head to the southern end of Dragon Beach to find the treasure there next to the skeleton claw.

You will find the buried treasure for the Washed Ashore Treasure Map glowing here.
