This page will detail how to reach The Sinkholes area of Vanaheim in God of War Ragnarok.
The Sinkholes is one of the bigger optional areas located in The Crater section of Vanaheim. It contains many optional favors/sidequests, as well as a bunch of loot and upgrades for your characters. Before you can even think about going here, you will need to complete the Creatures of Prophecy main quest. After doing that, a new favor will pop up in Freyr’s Camp, called Scent of Survival. Completing this favor will automatically bring you to The Crater. More specifically, you will arrive at The Plains section of The Crater.

Getting to The Sinkholes area is a lot simpler than The Jungle, as you don’t really need to do anything special first, unlike with the latter. It is recommended, though, to go to The Jungle first and complete Return of the River, as this is necessary to make The Sinkholes fully explorable. It’s not needed to reach the area, though, just to be clear.
How To Find The Sinkholes in The Crater of Vanaheim - God of War Ragnarok¶
From where you first entered The Crater, climb the nearby wall to enter The Plains. The Plains is split into an eastern and western half, and you will start out in the Eastern Plains. As soon as you drop down into the Eastern Plains, turn to your east and head in that direction. If you see a circular archway, then that is where you will need to go. Pass through those archways and you should see a wall on your left, which you can ignore if you’re just trying to reach The Sinkholes. If you continue to the east-southeast, you will arrive at a cliff with a zipline. That zipline will take you straight to The Sinkholes.

Favors in The Sinkholes¶
There will be three Favors that can be found in The Sinkholes, which are as follows:
- Quaking Hollow
- The Burning Skies
- Casualty of War - The Hourglass
