You can find the entrance to the cave housing the Raider Hideout northeast of Tyr’s Temple.

How to Find the Raider Hideout

The Raider Hideout location is an island in the Lake of Nine, in Midgard. While you’ll travel to Midgard a few times early in the game, you won’t really get the opportunity to explore it properly until the main quest The Word of Fate. After this point, any time you’re free to explore you can return to Midgard and seek out collectibles.

Midgard was always centered around the Lake of Nine, but in God of War Ragnarok this trend is reinforced. Around a third of the collectibles in Midgard can be found in the Lake of Nine region, which is underselling how central this location is, as many subregions with their own collectibles are encompassed by or peripheral to the Lake of Nine. The Raider Hideout is a prime example, being a small area located along the northeastern edge of the Lake of Nine (northeast of Tyr’s Temple). From the lift leading up to the bridge along the eastern end of Tyr’s Temple, just head northeast until you spot two massive doors. You can’t pass through them, but the cave entrance to the Raider Hideout is just north of these doors.

Kill the Kol Raiders inside to complete the “Kol Raider Camp” collectible.

The Raider Hideout is, as its name implies, occupied by Kol Raiders, these ones being particularly fond of fire. Once you kill them you’ll start the favor Animal Instincts, which tasks you with eliminating four Kol Raider camps, including The Raider Hideout. Unlike most favors, Animal Instincts doesn’t count as a collectible… It counts as four, with each raider camp being its own separate collectible. Merely clearing the Kol Raiders out from the Raider Hideout is sufficient to complete one of the three collectibles for this region.

Find a Nornir Chest on a ledge in the Raider Hideout. You’ll need to light three rune braziers to open it.

Clear out the Raider Hideout, then search the western end of the central chamber to find a Fire Bomb Dispenser. This will come in handy shortly. From this Fire Bomb Dispenser head north and climb a ledge to find this area’s Nornir Chest. To open this Nornir Chest you’ll need to light three rune braziers, and since this isn’t timed, getting this chest open shouldn’t be too difficult:

(1 of 2) To the left of the Nornir Chest, burn away some bramble,

To the left of the Nornir Chest, burn away some bramble, (left), then hit the rune brazier hidden behind the brambles with a fire bomb to ignite it. (right)

  • Rune 1: From the Nornir Chest turn left (west) to find some brambles on the wall. Use a Runic Arrow and the Blades of Chaos to burn the brambles away, then grab a Fire Bomb from the dispenser and toss the Fire Bomb into the rune brazier to light it.

(1 of 2) To the right of the Nornir Chest you’ll find a hole in the wall - destroy the obstruction with a fire bomb,

To the right of the Nornir Chest you’ll find a hole in the wall - destroy the obstruction with a fire bomb, (left), then toss a second fire bomb inside to ignite the rune brazier. (right)

  • Rune 2: From the Nornir Chest turn right (east) and you’ll find a gap in the walkway. North of this gap is a hole in the wall, which is currently obstructed. Grab a Fire Bomb and toss it at the hole in the wall to clear the obstruction and reveal a second rune brazier, then hit said rune brazier with another Fire Bomb to light it.

(1 of 2) Use Runic Arrows on a pillar,

Use Runic Arrows on a pillar, (left), then toss a fire bomb to spread fire from the Runic Arrows to the rune brazier. (right)

  • Rune 3: Head south from the Fire Bomb Dispenser and when you reach a pit opposite some stairs, turn east and you should spot the third rune brazier in the distance. The Blades of Chaos can’t reach far enough to light this rune brazier, and a rock formation will prevent you from hitting the rune brazier directly with a Fire Bomb. Instead, aim at the pillar the runic brazier rests atop and shoot several Runic Arrows so that the runes encompass the brazier, then throw the Fire Bomb at the lower, more accessible, now rune-covered pillar - the flame should be transferred up to the rune brazier, opening the Nornir Chest.

Open a secluded - if not well-hidden - Legendary Chest in the Raider Hideout to obtain the Tartarus Rage, a Heavy Runic Attack for the Blades of Chaos.

Legendary Chest - Tartarus Rage

From the Nornir Chest, head east and jump a gap, then turn left (north) around a corner to find a Legendary Chest. Open it and you’ll obtain Tartarus Rage, a Heavy Runic Attack for the Blades of Chaos.
