Mi-an is the other builder that arrives with you to Sandrock. She is a significant part of the story and one of the characters you will learn the most about. This makes her easy to romance, as you will be gaining points just by completing the main story of the game. Players hoping to romance Mi-an will need to do a bit more work by finding out what gifts she likes and loves. Where to Find Mi-an¶
Mi-an is one of the very first characters you will meet in Sandrock and is the town’s other builder. She can be found at her house behind the Blue Moon Saloon or running around the outskirts of Sandrock. You will run into Mi-an often as she is part of most of the town’s story quests in one way or another as she assists you with building. Mi-an is friends with Elisie, so befriending her will give you a boost to Mi-an’s friendship points. Overall, this is one of the most accessible romance options and a great place to start for players who are new to the marriage system.
How to Romance Mi-an¶
Mi-an is one of the easiest characters to romance in My Time at Sandrock. This is due to the fact that she is a central part of the game’s story. Like most characters, to date Mi-an you must first get her to 400 Friendship points and then try confessing with a Heart Knot. This item can be bought at the town General store for 128 Gols. If Mi-an accepts, her status will change to girlfriend, and you will need to start gaining parts towards her romance meter to progress further.
You can gain points by speaking with Mi-an every day, giving her gifts, sparring with her, playing Critters, completing quests, and going on Play Dates. When Mi-an becomes your girlfriend, dates will unlock to give you another way to earn friendship points. Once you reach 900 points, you can buy an Engagement Ring and propose to Mi-an. This can be purchased from the Mysterious Man on the 20th and 21st of every season for 2,000 Gols.
Best Gifts to Give Mi-an¶
Mi-an is a rather easy character to give gifts to. She enjoys receiving items that will help her in her job as a builder. She also enjoys fish, so learning to Sandfish can help you to acquire some easier gifts for Mi-an. Gifts outside of this should be avoided, as she does have quite a few dislikes and hates. After you open the first Ruin at Eufaula Salvage, you will easily be able to start producing items for Mi-an. You can start out by making Bronze Axes and Bronze Pickhammers for nine friendship points each. Once you get further in the game, especially with fishing, you can diversify the gifts that you are giving Mi-an. Her most loved gifts are the Aluminum Axe and Aluminum Pickhammer, Chainsaw, Chromium Axe, Chromium Pickhammer, Desert Mudfish King, Jacuzzi, and the Power Drill, which will get you 20 friendship points each.
Mi-an Player Gifts¶
Mi-an will mail the player gifts as she gets closer to them. These gifts are pretty useful for helping out around your shop, upping your stats, and helping with your building projects. The table below goes over what Mi-an will send you.

In addition to this, Mi-an will send you a gift on your birthday if you have become friends. The gift will be in a similar vein to the items listed above. Luckily, furniture can be placed to provide buffs and the Fine Steamed Fish can help to up your stamina when working. If you don’t like her gifts, then you can give them to someone else or sell them at the General Store.
