How to Build an Intermediate Worktable

By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

This page offers a guide on how to either build or upgrade your existing worktable into an Intermediate Worktable in My Time at Sandrock.

The Intermediate Worktable can be used to make more advanced components and materials.

How to Upgrade the Worktable

If you don’t fancy making a new worktable, you can choose to just upgrade your current worktable instead. You’ll need a few less materials but will need to get some Machine Upgrade Kits. Seeing as though worktables don’t have timers on them, there isn’t much of a point having more than one worktable. For other upgraded machinery, you might find it more efficient to make a separate upgraded machine so you can have two going at once!

To upgrade an existing worktable (or any other machinery), select the arrow icon on the top left of the screen.

If you want to build the Intermediate Worktable on the Assembly Station, you’ll need x2 more Copper Wires, x2 more Old Parts, x1 more Marble Slab, x1 more Hardwood Stick but no Machine Upgrade Kits. You’ll need the following amount of materials for the Assembly Station build:

  • 12 Old Parts Item_Drop_OldParts.png
  • 36 Copper Ore Item_Drop_Ore_Copper.png

How to Make Marble Slabs

How to Make Copper Wires

Before you can make Copper Wire, you’ll need to first purchase the recipe from the Commerce Guild Store. It’ll cost around 35 Gols depending on price fluctuation.

You can make 1 Copper Wires on the Grinder with x1 Copper Bar. Therefore, for 10 Copper Wire, you’ll need to get 10 Copper Bars.

There are a few ways to get Copper Bars. Firstly, Copper Bar can be made with x3 Copper Ore in the furnace. Copper Ore is the most abundant ore in the mines. It can be found on the first level of the Abandoned Ruins and you’ll be able to get hundreds of the stuff in no time. You’ll get the most Copper Ore from mining big Copper Crystals found in the mines, but you’ll also get some ore from clearing the blue-brown debris that blocks your path. If you make all 10 Copper Bars, you’ll need x30 Copper Ore.

Copper Ore is found on every level of the Abandoned Ruins.

You could also obtain Copper Bars from recycling Copper Scraps. Copper Scraps can be obtained from Junk Piles found in the Eufaula Salvage Yard - or you can purchase Copper Scraps from the Eufaula Salvage Shop as well. Given that materials dropped from a Recycler are random, you may have to recycle more or less Copper Scraps depending on your luck.

And finally, if you really don’t want to do any of the work, you could just purchase Copper Bars from Hammertime. They cost around 25 Gols, depending on the price fluctuation.

How to Get Old Parts

Old Parts are obtained from mining in the Eufaula Salvage Abandoned Ruins or by recycling Mechanical Scrap in the Recycler. Both are pretty legitimate ways of obtaining Old Parts, so do whichever you see fit!

How to Make Hardwood Sticks

Hardwood Sticks can be made on a Processor using Hard Wood. You’ll need x4 Hard Wood for 1 Hardwood Stick. To obtain Hard Wood, you’ll also need to upgrade to a Bronze Axe.

How to Get Hard Wood

One way to obtain hard wood is to recycle fine wood scraps, which can be collected from chopping at quality wood scrap piles. There’s a few of these up the hill near the path to Eufaula Salvage.

Another way to get Hard Wood is to chop at deadwood. Deadwood are fallen trees found in the area surrounding your workshop - make sure not to mistake these for living trees! You’re not allowed to chop down trees! To make x5 Hardwood Sticks, you’ll need x20 Hard Wood.

How to Get Machine Upgrade Kits

Machine Upgrade Kits can be dropped by monsters. The Alpha Wild Yakmel in the desert outside your workshop has a decent chance of dropping a Machine Upgrade Kit.

Alternatively, you could just purchase some from Hammertime. They cost around 120 Gols each, but this price can fluctuate.

How to Use the Intermediate Workplace

With the Intermediate Workplace, you’ll be able to make new and more advanced materials and objects! For example, you’ll now be able to make Bloodstone Cores and Bloodstone Saws, which are necessary components in upgraded machinery!
