How to Build the Stage Support

By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

This page offers a guide on how to build the Stage Support, which is an optional build for The Show Must Go On main quest in My Time at Sandrock.

For the main quest, you get the choice to either build the Stage Backdrop or the Stage Support - whichever you choose, Mi-an will build the other.

Before you can build the Stage Support, you’ll need to first make a Bronze Pickhammer to smash up the old stage to get some materials. Head over to our guide for more information on How to Make a Bronze Pickhammer.

Required Materials to Build the Stage Support

To build the Stage Support you’ll need x8 Bronze Bars, x8 Stone Slates and x8 Wooden Boards. Below you’ll find details on how to obtain all the required materials. In total, you’ll need the following raw resources:

  • 16 Tin Ore Item_Drop_Ore_Tin.png
  • 24 Copper Ore Item_Drop_Ore_Copper.png
  • 40 Wood Item_Drop_Wood_0.png
  • 64 Stones Item_Drop_Rock_0.png or Stone Scrap Item_StoneWaste_pz.png (Bricks are a random drop)

How to Make Bronze Bars

Bronze Bars can be made in the Furnace with x3 Copper Ore and x2 Tin Ore. You’ll need to build a furnace before you can forge Bronze Bars yourself! To make 8 Bronze Bars, you’ll need 24 Copper Ore and 16 Tin Ore.

The main way obtain these materials is to mine them in Eufaula Salvage Abandoned Ruins (you can purchase Ore from Eufaula Salvage store).

How to Get Copper Ore

Copper Ore is the most abundant ore in the mines. It can be found on the first level of the Abandoned Ruins and you’ll be able to get hundreds of the stuff in no time. You’ll get the most Copper Ore from mining big Copper Crystals found in the mines, but you’ll also get some ore from clearing the blue-brown debris that blocks your path.

Copper Ore is found on every level of the Abandoned Ruins.

How to Get Tin Ore

Tin Ore can only be found in the mines once you’ve reached and unlocked at least the 3rd level of the Abandoned Ruins. To get to deeper levels of the mine, you need to search for door ways and holes downwards - most of the time they’ll be hidden behind depris so you’ll need to dig through it. It can be mined from silver spikey crystals. Once you’re at levels lower than the 3rd level, tin ore is very common and easy to mine.

Alternatively, if you don’t fancy going mining, you can purchase Bronze Bars from Hammertime - the smithing shop. Prices fluctuate in Sandrock, but one Bronze Bar will cost around 45 Gols. Or, you could purchase some Tin Ore and Bronze Ore from Eufaula Salvage Shop. Bronze Ore costs 4 each and Tin Ore costs 8 so it’s cheaper than purchasing the Bronze Bars outright.

How to Get Wooden Boards

Wooden Boards are made by putting Wood in a Processor. If you haven’t already built a processor, you’ll need to purchase the blueprint for +3 data discs from Qi at the Research Center. Head over to our guide for more information on How to Build a Processor.

For every 1 wooden board, you’ll need x5 Wood, so for the 8 wooden boards required for the Stage Support, you’ll need x40 Wood.

Wood can easily be collected by chopping at bushes or wooden scraps, or by sifting through wood piles with your hands! Remember, don’t chop down trees or cacti - it’s bad for the environment, the town will hate you and you’ll be fined!

then search for some wooden scraps with an axe symbol hovering over them!

How to Get Stone Slates

You’ll also need a Processor to make Stone Slates! To make Stone Slates you’ll need to put 2 Bricks into the processor. To make 8 Stone Slates, you’ll need to make 16 Bricks.

How to Get Bricks

Bricks can be obtained in a few different ways. You could either put stone scraps in a Recycler, but as with all things recycled, there’s no guarantee you will get bricks. If you have lots of Stone Scraps, then this might be the way to go!

The best and most reliable way to obtain Bricks is to make them in a furnace.

You’ll need 4 Stones for every 1 Brick, so for 16 Bricks you’ll need to collect 64 Stones. Luckily, Stones are really easy to come by, just head out and find some gravel stones near your yard and mine them with your pickhammer!

Bricks can be made in the furnace as well as obtained from the recycler.

How to Use the Stage Support

Once you’ve made the Stage Support, you’ll need to pick it up and install it where the old stage used to be (near Hammertime). For completing the The Show Must Go On main quest, you’ll earn +10 Relationship with Matila, +400 Experience, +800 Gols and +25 Workshop Reputation.

The stage is back up and running!
