This page offers a guide on how to complete the main quest, First Day on the Job in My Time at Sandrock.
Before you can access this quest, you’ll need to have completed the Becoming Official main quest.
Head to the Commerce Guild¶
After registering your workshop at the city hall, you’ll need to head back to the Commerce Guild to talk to Yan. Upon arriving outside the guild, you’ll be greeted by 
Mi-an, who’s also been summoned to the guild. When you head inside you’ll witness 
Rocky and Yan having an argument.
Rocky and Yan have had a falling out!
After witnessing a brief cut scene, you’ll be asked to build a Crane Lift for Rocky and Eufaula Salvage so they can access the mines. To help with building the Crane Lift, you’ll also be given a free one week pass to the Eufaula Salvage yard where you can collect new types of materials and resources from the scrap piles there. There are only a few scrap piles there each day, but they respawn everyday. After a week has passed, you’ll need to purchase weekly passes for 200 Gols if you want to enter Eufaula Salvage Yard.
After being told to build the Crane Lift, you’ll begin the main quest Picking Up the Slack.
